I am looking for a cover that bolts to the lower section between the engine and transmission of a Buick 350 V8 and a TH400 transmission. My engine is a 1975 350 and tranny is a 1970 TH400 made for a Buick engine. Are there any out there? Or should I order the 'GM universal inspection cover' from JEGS [which requires that a starter cut-out be made]. It's OE grade plastic and manufactured by TCI [part # 890-743866]. My engine and tranny came to me without this cover and I have been unable to locate one at local salvage yards. Obviously, I would prefer not leaving it unprotected from dust/rain/etc. as I just spent the last 6 months rebuilding the engine and transmission. Am not sure about the 'fit' of the one from this above-named supply house and also unsure if their telephone sales people would know either. Thanks in advance. Lane
How much would you need to get for it and could you ship it? Please feel free to PM me if preferred. When I have purchased things here previously we did it by paypal. Okay by you?
Good ....... so there are some out there. I just called JEGS and found out their plastic version will not fit Buick [BOP], only chevys. I had rather have a stock one anyway. Let me know. Lane
Just an FYI, Chevy and Buick have their starter on the right (passenger) side of the engine; Olds and Pontiac are on the left. BOP refers to the bolt pattern of the bellhousing area of the transmission case, not the starter position.
I think this is what you're looking for hopefully this helps! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-F...808922&hash=item286b38cc12:g:-84AAOSw3JRbeXlh
