Selling my early production 1970 Skylark Custom. I’ve owned this car for 10 years having bought it with the intention of using it for parts on an July 1969 build Stage 1 convertible I intended to restore. I wanted to have available an unmolested factory correct template to duplicate my restoration to the highest standards while offering any date coded components I may have needed. While this car was repainted red over its factory Aqua Mist the car appears to have been never disassembled. Evidence of rear qtr replacement exists, the trunk pan needs patch work but overall this is a solid, driving car capable of being enjoyed now and hopefully restored to one of Buick’s greatest colors. This Skylark is likely one of the very earliest Buick’s for the 1970 model year left. The VIN is 44437OH100663 the low serial number is equally matched by some of the accompanying documentation, as seen in the pictures. Lots of pictures are available Options are a unique combination: A/C, power steering, power drum brakes, power locks, manual windows, am radio and rim blow steering wheel. The car is located in Rockford, MI asking $6,000
Good luck with the sale! This looks like a decent car for a decent price, wish I could swing it. I thought my 70 was early, it’s 000934, but you may be right about this one being one of the earliest left today. Again, good luck!!
My Stage 1 convertible also an early build (2nd earliest Stage 1 on the registry) was sold to a great guy who frankly had greater means to restore the car than I had. A education was learned ($$$) as I traversed on the fly how to reimport a car from England into the US in a post 911 world. The car was worth every penny being numbers matching and a unique car in the pool of 232 built but after holding it for many years it was time to get it restored and the best way was to sell it. The car will be debuted this November at the MCACN show in Chicago. White car with black top and interior. This is definitely a decent Skylark and probably priced too high - but you can never go up only down, right? I'm not sure those rear quarter moldings are correct for 70. I've seen them on 71's in the past but never a 70. The passenger side mirror is a 71-72 model so I wouldn't be surprised the moldings are later year as well. I'm selling the car because I have enough cars and not enough years left to get them all done.
