Todd stocks a ton of goodies from Lectric Limited. He just hooked me up with a set of correct repro date coded spark plug wires and that company also carries a whole host of electric stuff for our cars. I'm using those wires, correct spring battery cables and a water temperature sending unit for a gauge car. Quality stuff at a reasonable price.
So I noticed the positive battery cable that was in use in the car is this huge, long metal wrapped cable thingy. Like this thing looks super heavy duty!
I saw that the other night. It should look like this. The cable was molded - for lack of a better word - into a plastic block that set inside a metal bracket (pictured) that bolts to the block.
That's exactly where it was in the 70 GSX I bought years ago. It even had some Saturn Yellow over spray on it.
Those aren't Edelbrock, they are original Buick chrome valve covers that came on all Stage 1 motors. The regular GS455 valve covers were red. You can get the correct bolts from several aftermarket vendors. the top 3 bolts have valve cover hold-downs as part of the bolt and the bottom 2 bolts also have hold-downs plus a post sticking up to hold the spark plug wire holders that run along the bottom of each valve cover. I'll post a pic later tonight. Here you go:
I found A build sheet under the gas tank ,and piece of one in the back seat springs on my 72 skylark .
What a awesome project. Jesi I think that is one bad ass Buick and I dig that it was your fathers car. Get it running and kick some ass on the road.
Nice project Jesi. Nice to see that another younger person is working on the older cars. On another note, I was in Lewiston, ID for a few months not that long ago. Work keeps dragging me all over the place. I might have to go back up there later on this year.
I can help with ANYTHING Electrical for our Buick's! (And save you some money over the "Big Name" parts places!) Just give me a call or hop on my website . . . www.DieCastMuscleCars.com/dcmbuick.htm
I know this isn't a build sheet, but it was tucked I to the springs in the back of the front seat. Hand written. Unfortunately too deteriorated to tell what it says
That's the Fisher body sheet. Its found in cars assembled in Flint. Its usually in the passenger seat spring. Its to make sure the right seats go in the right car. Unfortunately, if Im reading my codes right, that's seems to be from a different car. Not uncommon to find the wrong sheets in cars 3537 is the model number for a Skylark 350. 176 is the trim code for a saddle notchback bench seat. D33 is for the left side remote mirror and A02 is for tinted glass
