Need info on gsx type rear spoiler placement and best place to buy one. Does anyone know if they supply a template when you purchase the spoiler. Need to buy the gsx stripe kit also.

thought the trunk lids, at some, had marked indentations where the where the hole would be drilled to mount the spoiler.
Unless you want to get into modifying the spoiler it's only going to fit where the contour matches the decklid, then just center it from side to side, stay away from the plastic spoilers, they are PURE GARBAGE
unless you have messed with these,I wouldn't do that.Have someone who has done it help you..A fast good way to end up in the hospital
Put visegrips on it nice and tight and move them up a notch, but yes they will kick your ass when they come off like being beat by 4 guys at once ha
torsion bars on the truck closer assembly .. why? thought you just drill holes and bolt down spoiler.. glad I asked
you need to increase the spring tension or you will be wearing the decklid for a hat when it slams down on you
I believe there were a couple of flat iron pieces that were applied onto the underside of the trunk lid to strengthen the lid when the spoiler bolts were installed.
Do not install the spoiler using the curvature of the spoiler as a mounting guide. Get the correct template and drill the holes where specified. Then adjust the curvature on the spoiler posts to fit the trunk. Take your time making the fit tight, fix any defects in the spoiler, paint and install.
My buddy told me he bought a wing from the parts place and it didn't fit right. Now seeing this picture I can see why compared to yellow GSX
And that was after taking a grinder and a d/a to the Parts Place pedestals and radically altering the profile. She's a runner/driver, not a trailer queen, that lil stuff won't be noticeable through all the tire smoke.....Jim
But,you should get good quality parts not the junk you receive from TPP.. For the money they ask for their products,you shouldn't have to grind etc.. I have a OEM 71 rear spoiler I put on my body shell,and it fit like it was always on the trunk lid..
At $269 delivered I'm fine with it. Does it require more work to make it purty? Yup, but I'm not about to spend $500 on a spoiler . I'll spend the money I saved on going fast, not being purty. Jim
The spoiler I got from TPP was cracked and chipped on the end BEFORE they primed it, and it was a VERY obvious break... My UPS guy about had a fit thinking it was damaged by them; I pointed out the primer inside the gap. Called TPP, and the rep was out and would get back with me. I called several more times over the next couple of weeks, and never was able to get up with the customer service rep. The hardware was mismatched (three different size nuts, and the foam rubber gasket would barely touch the studs (much less be an effective gasket/isolator.) And the pedestals took a good bit of massaging (filler and grinding) to get it to fit...Yeah, they wanted ME to pay freight BOTH ways (effectively paying THREE freight charges) for THEIR F*** up. Haven't spent one penny more with them; probably NEVER WILL...
