For my Dad's 1970 GS STG1. Many Years ago (80's) he flared the rear and put old school aluminum with 12" rubber with the tri-spinners in the center. These were 14' diameter wheels - tires are $$$ or non-existent to fit those wheels anyway. Currently he is looking to suck the quarters back in to stock dimensions, but we talked about the after market buick rally's to fill out the huge void in the rears. I know there are variants of the Buick Rally's to include 15 X 10 wide, so if you got these wheels in a 'lark or GS please post up pictures. If you are running 16" or 17" rally repros we would like to see those too if you have pictures. I googled for pictures but didn't seem to get much back. I suggesting running 15 x 8" in the front and 15 x 10's in the rears...but honestly 17's would look impressive as well. Please post up pictures if you got them to include front to back, back to front of the car to show how the wheel wells fill out. Thank you.
I suggest you read this entire thread, but look at the last post first. Not cheap though. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?th...o-are-you-running.194022/page-13#post-2730172
Thanks. But no thanks, as you may be aware Im looking for pictures. There is good information in the link you provided but since the site upgrade a while back the thread itself has several bad/broken links and very few pictures of aftermarket Buick style rally wheels. Just looking for pictures of after market Buick Style Rallys (wider than 7") on '70 skylarks\GSs. Im trying to get a clear look at what a stock car looks like with wide ralley wheels and tires. Sure I have some idea with pictures of different wheels...but that is not my request. I would like to show something to my dad for consideration.
Ask Scott for some pictures of those wheels on his car. Not sure if he has put them on the car or not. Those are the best looking aftermarket Buick Rallyes I have seen.
I ll look to see if I got one. I may need my dad to take a picture since we're not in the same state. Edit: Ok I found one, not the best but you can see how much wider the rear is and the silly little 15" x 8 in the rear is definitely not enough wheel and rubber. No there is no dents or anything on that rear quarter it is just dirty. Zoom on to look closer. It is my dad goal to clean her up and get some paint on it by Dec.
OK, try looking at this thread, http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/my-new-new-15x10s-are-here.15046/ Phil has 15 X 10 Rallye wheels with 5 5/8" B.S. and 325/50-15 drag Radials. Here are the pictures from that thread. Wide enough for you?
Thank you Larry. That is exactly what I was wanted to show my dad. Scott, the car looks great. How wide on the rear are those tires? Thanks, -Chad
Thanks. 18 x 11", 6.5" backspace (1/2" offset) although I may run a 1/4" spacer once the car is fully loaded down and I drive it, w/ 295/40/18 tire.
