This showed up along my drive to work. Could not get phone number due to being behind cyclone fence. If someone is seriously interested I can get more info.
Interesting, it's painted in what appears to be 1971 Twilight Turquoise, would be interesting to see if it is a SCO car, or just a repaint color change. Could also be a 71 that was front end damaged.
Heritage green would also be an SCO on Centurion, more than likely A wonkey repaint but would be an interesting car if it was heritage Green. May be a nicely optioned car as well since it has cornering lights
Gate was open so I got a few more pics. It was dumping rain and I was running late so quality and detail very limited. Doors were open. Quick look at driver door jamb I could see where car was painted but could not see obvious indication where it was a color change. Again I was getting pelted and was in a hurry. The car is inside a fenced construction equipment and storage area and gate is rarely open. Didn't note any rust bubbling in lower extremities.
Note date on original post folks of August 2017. This car showed up for sale again at same place. I posted over at AACA Buick For Sale and there are some comments. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/297143-1972-centurion-convertible/ Now asking $2k but no takers yet. I am resisting the urge to offer $1000 afraid they'd accept. I'm currently in a no buy/project mode so trying to be disciplined. Was thinking get it road worthy and flip but skeered of more work needed than anticipated and no meat left on bone. By the way the gas tank is held on with nylon ratchet straps. At least it'd be easy to remove!
Give in to the urge and join the Dark Side, resistance is futile, Big Buicks are great cars too and this thing for $1000 would be steal, even if the tank is held in with tie straps. -...It's calling to you..."save me!" It would have a 455 and it looks like a nice option load...heed the call...
I've been to the Dark Side Marc, a couple times. Don't wanna go back. And that voice that is calling "save me" is the devil! LOL
No buy/project mode and no meat on the bone? Welcome to the deranged and addicted Buick Club...!! Lol... Tom
Looked at the Centurion a little closer today. To anyone who might be laying in bed at night thinking maybe...., Should I? This is a parts car in no uncertain terms. Its toast. Trust me
ABSOLUTELY! JZ was good enough to send a slightly expanded assessment of this guy but there isnt much more to be said. Us old guys dont need help in the "not sleeping at night" department LOL... THANKS JZ!! ws Bill, Went at lunch today to check it out. OMG. This is a parts car at best. Only spent about 6 minutes there and seen more than enough to make an accurate assessment! The floors are gone gone gone, the frame is rusted through near the rear axle. I can see evidence of bondo in the quarter up high like it was hit. The interior is the best part of car. Now you can sleep at night. LOL
