Wow did you get the sloan paperwork? Is it a black no vinyl car? The SunCoupes were available with any roof treatment that was available in 72 including painted and Halo No vinyl is very rare too. I have some parts and just sold both our SunCoupes as were no longer into the show car routine.
No when i got the car it had been sitting in a field for ten years. I had to go through a long line of paperwork to get the pink slip. Since then ive got it into my name and has been sitting in storage... I had a 468ci in it but ended up selling the motor. Ive been on a mission to find the original motor and trans from the guy i bought it from.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here's mine http://www.v8buick.com/garage.php?do=user_garage_view&id=26715 I have had it for about 4 yrs now, this car was owned by someone else here on this board a few years back. Car came from up north Florida, I live in south Florida. The car has the 71 front / back bumpers and some other GS features but it looks good. A have a 72 Vert. which I might sell the suncoupe is best of both worlds hardtop/convertible. yet the value is not as nearly high as a Vert. or a real GS.
I have one that is in the home stretch of a restoration. Since it was pretty far gone and had no drive train it was an opportunity to build what I would have ordered. 455 powered 4 speed with a posi all courtesy of a 71 gs. Going with the factory appearing stealth option to keep a low profile although the heritage green and white is hard to miss and the 350 badges will get a lot of puzzed looks when the big block is awakes with the roar from the Dual exhaust and rototills the pavement and bangs through the m-21 gears. I do the same thing in the gs but that one is expected to do that.:3gears::3gears:
I have owned two of them. One I crashed when I was very young and have to say it still ran even after I crashed it. That car just would not die. I had more problems with my tops than I cared for so I never looked for one again. Rare cars and very cool but if they break or you have problems with that top they can be a pain. When I had mine this board did not exist. I would have not had near the problems if this board and great references were available then.
I've had a Sun Coupe for 30 years now, I bought it in high school and was my first car. I also had another one that I used for parts and junked, I wish I hadn't done that now! I just brought it to the body shop two weeks ago to get the quarters replaced and put in primer. When I get it back, I pulling the body off and doing the frame. Hopefully, I'll have some nice pics someday to share on here! Dave F.
