Hey guys and gals!! I am regretfully announcing that I will not be at this fantastic family reunion. It has been a tough year, but I am progressing along in a positive manner. My son and I happen to have a scouting weekend. Just know that I am going to be back next year and I will be checking in on everyone. If you need tires, I can still help!!
Cars ready. New tires( from the tire pimp),and... So looking forward to this race as my truck broke on the way down last year.
Hey there everyone, long time no see but I will be there for sure with the 69 H/O. Can't bring the Bandit Car...too new Rusty, we'll miss ya for sure. Maybe next year you'll be scout leader and you'll have the whole troop in Michigan... Munson, it'll be like old times seeing the 442 drop top running out there! I'm staying at the new place too. If most are staying there, maybe the parking lot party can regroup and compare to those in the past??? Does anyone know where the majority will be hanging out? Track or Motel? I'd bring music and pop for some good shots again if I know y'all will be hanging out. See ya soon :beer Paul
This is really tough - but I'm not going to be racing. Kim had major surgery about 9 weeks ago. She was off work for 7 weeks. She went back to work and in her first full week she caught a cold. Which by last Sunday turned into pneumonia. I just brought her home from the hospital Friday. The same day my pop dropped off my tires and oil for the GP. Sigh. I might do a day-trip on Saturday. I haven't missed the Purestocks since 2000. I might make Martin in October if there is such a meet. 2016 Would mean back to the Olds - which I drove that car to the Purestocks in 1996. Perhaps a 20th anniversary of that trip?
Joe, sorry to hear about your wife. Keep her healthy and moving forward. There will be other weekends. I am out this year. The past few years football games fell on Saturday nights and worse case Jody made a final pass or two for me but I got most of the weekend in. This time around the game is early and I moved from O Coordinator to head coach so no skipping Friday's game prep. Tim, don't tempt fate with saying all is too easy... Larry, Ron/Jody, Paul should all be in attendance. I will see you at Martin in the spring, hopefully without terminal carb issues like this year. Not a great year for me. Everyone have a great weekend and stay safe and keep it fun. Mark
AHHHHH Yeah... That already bit me in the ass.... Sorry to hear your not gonna make it. Alotta regulars falling off this time.. You will be missed:beers2:
I'm sorry to hear that I may not see some of you, but they all seem to be for good causes - family comes first. :Smarty: I will be thinking of your wife's recovery, Joe. ray: Any of you who come without a car and want to join in the banter (if not just to see the race from a different POV), feel free to visit the tower. :TU:
I will be canceling 3 rooms if any body needs them at the americinn in Greenville. Yes I am still showing up, no Hemi road runner this year.
we'll need to make alternate arrangements as he's not going to be able to make it after all Munson and I are headed out roughly around noon tomorrow.
As usual, I will be leaving a little after Jeremy McNicol <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FJD1Z2RWHWM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Unfortunately, I will not be making it this year, with or without a car. Personal stuff going on but it sucks. FIRST time in the 10 years I have been doing this that I wont be in attendance, even without a car. Have a great time and I expect to see some posts on how everyone is running! Mike
Hey Mark, Rusty, Mike others .... We are going to miss you guys... As for Mike, I hope your family issues see good outcomes. Getting ready to leave as I write this, and it's pouring rain here. By default, this might be a good year to miss? As much as I wanted the weather outlook to somehow change by now, it's gotten worse (at least for Friday). Chin up and hoping like heck we get some good weather to run. Rich C.
