Yeah, I have a 300 small block engine (for my V8, 4.9L 1967 Skylark), and I am trying to figure out if the intake manifold for a 350 engine would fit for a 300 engine? Does anyone know or have any resources for this type of stuff. I ask because I am having some compatibility issues with this 300 small block. I thought some of my parts from my 350 engine would be more compatible, but they seem to not be. Also, does anyone know of a cross-reference guide, like a book, where I could compare and see what is compatible with what across these engines? Thanks.
A sbb 350 intake won't fit on a sbb 300, if you have both you should be able to see the intake ports won't line up and the 350 is wider than a 300 because the deck height is taller. Here is an engine spec reference guide that might help you; http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/m-table-c.htm GL Derek
yep , some good reference info there . basically for direct fit its : top end - intake , heads etc all dif . some small parts - brackets , connectors etc , are usable . bottom end - timing cover and components , distributor , certain combo's of mounts same . balancer , flywheel/flexplate you'd wanna check on good , maybe not . internal short block parts no . with mod's some major parts are usable but cost to return ratio may be hard to justify depending upon your tastes and budget . and if you are wondering about the 350 intake so you can put a 4 barrel on 'er a OEM cast 65 '300 4 bbl intake is your only reasoable choice . there are some out there but $250-$350 i think is kind of a normal price for 'em at this time . there are some pricey aftermarket intakes i think . just ask here before ya take too big of a plunge , up in the "smallblock" section would be better for further questions unless pertaining directly to a carb problem . do your homework . check back and look around to see how it works .
