My mechanic did a great job diagnosing and fixing a problem that required replacing the ignition switch in the 1965 Gran Sport, but he discarded the old parts (including the lock cylinder and the bezel nut) and replaced them with an ugly generic set. I'm OK finding a new cylinder, but the bezel nut is a tough find! If anyone has one to sell (even if it has to come with the whole switch with the cylinder) I'd be interested in talking! Thanks!
Ken.. I think I have an extra 65 ignition assembly. I will search my stash and get back 2 U! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
..SORRY. I've been busy completing a 72 GS resto, now heading to San Jose... I will try to find my 65 stuff this weekend... Thank you for your patience. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I've got this! Let me know if your interested. I got the nut to spin all the way up to the lock cylinder but I don't have the key to get the lock cyl out. The lock would need to be drilled to get the nut apart.
Ken..unfortunately all my 65 stuff is packed away in my 65's at a freinds garage an hour away... I KNOW I have an extra ignition besel but just cant find time get up there to retrieve it.. SO I appologise to you for holding you up, and many THANKS to Brian for steppin' up! Wheelz, Tampa Bay ---------- Post added at 03:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:27 PM ---------- Brian and Ken.. a good LOCKSMITH should be able to decipher the 'code' on the ingnition switch and possibly make a key, then disassemble the unit without drilling it.... Brian, Thanks! I'd be happy to take it if you want! Send me a message and we can work out the details! Ken
Thanks Wheelz, I've got a locksmith if I can't get apart it myself (I'll dust off some old skills I had in my youth, if you know what I mean!) Ken
