Yeah four door with the 3.4 liter v6 twin turbo & basicly everything interchangeable with the Cadillac ATS
I work at a Chevy dealer and can't understand why GM dont build a replica of the GS or the GN like the way Chrysler did with the Challenger. I see those Challengers everywhere. The new Camaro to me is nothing like the old one. I guess we just need to keep building our own versions!
Another re-badged Opel. But I have to admit that I liked the 70's/80's Monzas :TU: At least it will be RWD :3gears: Click here and here :Comp:
Yeah. If they're going to do this, at least use the 2-door version. I'm getting so sick of four door sedans being acceptable as a performance car. These cars should be 2-doors to evoke a more sporty personality. Not four doors so that every guy with 2.2 kids and .9 dogs can have one to drive around in. But I'm sure GM/Buick have done a market study that shows they can sell more of 'em as 4-doors. So that's that.
I think this is great. 4- door or 2- door. Its good to see Buick/GM are not going to let those great names fade away like they have with the 442, GTO, Chevelle.
Back in the day, seems 2 door models usually topped the production and if not, held their own. 1970 Buick Production Figures SKYLARK SERIES Model 43337-Two-Door Coupe...................................18,620 Model 43369-Four-Door Sedan...................................13,420 SPORTWAGON SERIES Model 43435-Wagon..............................................2,239 Model 43436-Wagon(dual tailgate)..........................10,002 SKYLARK 350 SERIES Model 43537-Two-Door Sport Coupe...........................70,918 Model 43569-Four-Door Sedan...................................30,281 SKYLARK CUSTOM SERIES Model 44437-Two-Door Sport Coupe...........................36,367 Model 44439-Four-Door Hardtop.................................12,411 Model 44467-Convertible Coupe...................................4,954 Model 44469-Four-Door Sedan.....................................7,113 GS SERIES Model 43437-Two-Door Sport Coupe...............................9,948 Model 44637-Two-Door Sport Coupe(GS455)....................8.732 Model 44667-Convertible Coupe(GS455)..........................1,416 LESABRE SERIES Model 45237-Two-Door Sport Coupe...........................14,163 Model 45239-Four-Door Hardtop.................................14,817 Model 45269-Four-Door Sedan...................................35,404 Model 45437-Custom Two-Door Sport Coupe................35,641 Model 45439-Custom Four-Door Hardtop......................43,863 Model 45467-Custom Convertible Coupe........................2,487 Model 45469-Custom Four-Door Sedan........................36,682 Model 46437-Custom 455 Sport Coupe..........................5,469 Model 46439-Custom 455 Four-Door Hardtop..................6,541 Model 46469-Custom 455 Four-Door Sedan....................5,555 ESTATE WAGON Model 46036-Station Wagon(two seats)..........................11,427 Model 46046-Station Wagon(three seats)........................16,879 WILDCAT CUSTOM SERIES Model 46637-Two-Door Sport Coupe............................9,447 Model 46639-Four-Door Hardtop.................................12,924 Model 46667-Convertible Coupe...................................1,244 ELECTRA 225 SERIES Model 48239-Four-Door Hardtop.................................14,338 Model 48257-Two-Door Sport Coupe....................... ...12,013 Model 48269-Four-Door Sedan...................................12,580 Model 48439-Custom Four-Door Hardtop......................65,114 Model 48457-Custom Two-Door Sport Coupe................26,002 Model 48467-Custom Convertible Coupe........................6,045 Model 48469-Custom Four-Door Sport Coupe................14,109 RIVIERA Model 49487-Two-Door Coupe...................................37,336 Total Production...............................666,501 Back then you had a number of models to choose from in various body styles and colors. Plus you could personalize your car with options of your choice. Fast forward to today. No models to choose from except 4 doors in a "muscle car." Very little if any personal choices as far as options are concerned. That leaves you with maybe a color choice. They are only building 4 doors now because of the cost cutting opportunities involved. In other words build them all the same and just slap on whatever Badging is required. Guess they call that progress but I sure do not see it that way. That's the shame of it all.
Honda, BMW, Mercedes, and to a lessor extent, Toyota build 2 door versions of their most popular models. p I'll never buy a new GM product until that company apologizes for the garbage they sold me in 1990, and gives back ALL that money owed to the American taxpayer. I do think the car in this thread is nice looking (Buicks have the best styling at GM, IMO).
I happen to like my T-Regal in Carbon Metallic. A fellow in his 80K M5 today was having a fit about it. DL
I agree totally.............. Chrysler has put out very nice retro models ............I really like the Challenger model, but not really a Chrysler fan. Even the camaro is not that bad, but the roof line is very low can't see too well, I drove one for a week. I think this new Buick looks totally ridiculous , puts the GN badge too shame. Buick needs Designers that can bring back the old school look to the GS line and redo the GN. Well that's my 2 cent's on this......
It doesn't matter what GM builds there will always be people that b&$% and moan. I'd rather see GM do what it takes to be profitable than build what an extremely small percentage of people want (2 door, Buick only engine). Even if they did build a GN similar to the 80s model I would be willing to bet that less than 5% of the people complaining on these threads would actually put down money. If you want one like the 80s model, go buy one from the 80s.
:gp:If it was 800HP , someone would bitch it's not 900. FWIW , The G body was the biggest POS from the showroom floor, Body creaked, cracked and broke from the first burnout. I'm betting the 400Hp '14 will run rings around the '87 GN. How embarrassing smoked by a 4 door  DL
I think will be mid 300s hp for the GN and the GNX would have mid 400s hp wise in an ls or possibly new lt1 drive train. I would personally love to see the car be 2 doors and the new twin turbo Cadillac drive train punching out 450 plus hp. Loyd Reuss who ran Buick during the 80s his son Mark is running it now. I really hope for 2 doors. Regal is a great car and staying strong at the auction block all over the country (forget what KBB tells you). Prototypes are supposed to be at Bowling Green this fall at GS Nats. All goes well I will hope to offer a discount to members on v8buick.com and turbobuick.com for leasing/purchasing one through myself and my dealership. Hope to get some more information on this car soon:bglasses:
man I wish it had just "something" in the drivetrain to set it apart from the caddy's and other Chevrolets. something so we can say "its a buick" Cody
