Eastwood has been backordered on Bronze carb renew since December and it is putting EverydayperformanceLLC in a bind Anyone have a can or two to spare? I will gladly buy them from you.
crap - i just ordered a couple through jegs . that'll hold me up . normally you are the bearer of good news ken ! maybe supercede to bronze renew III ? cliff or the texas connection ?
I am hoping....Ive got a stack o disassembled carbs just getting bigger This is the second time Eastwood has got backordered this long....time to start plating maybe I called Jegs too. I guess they dropship because they are on backorder too....March they say
March - ouch ! ---------- Post added at 02:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:25 PM ---------- powder coat ? i'll have to start sniffin around on the internet ( "is that thing still around " ) will let ya know if i find something .
The color is nothing like an original Qjet if that is what you are trying to achieve. A simple gold paint would be closer.
Dont let that hold up my carb Ken. I could care less if it looks pretty. Clean and functional is all I need. You can call the unpainted ones, "survivor" rebuilds :idea2:
Jegs carries Eastwood Carb Renew. Have you checked with them? http://www.jegs.com/i/Eastwood/352/12867Z/10002/-1?CAWELAID=1710890764&catargetid=1784155608&&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CIet0eH8sbUCFUVN4AodIj8AJA
post number 3 jason LOL your ostrich eyes are failing you also it says in the jegs link that it ships march 2013 but I do thank you for trying to help
duh.....ou: Trying to multi-task I'll stop by a local restoration place and see if they have any tomorrow. They carry Eastwood products. If theyre reasonable, I'll pick you up a can or two.
That stuff is way too brown. Put it next to a correctly replated carb and it is not the same. Seymour gold caliper paint looks a lot better.
mustangsunlimited.com says "in stock" paceperformance.com also lists bronze II - didn't say backorder ?
I think Mustangs Unlimited is within driving distance from Ken too. He may need a pair of groucho glasses when he walks in there though
http://www.caswellplating.com/electroplating-anodizing/zinc-plating-kits.html Really easy to use, I picked up a used PW supply on EBay. The 3 gal kit will do a carb. Pictures are posted out on my cars FB page, just search, 1969 Buick Restoration
jegs gave me an eta of approx march 23 . i've got edelbrocks ready to go but the holleys need some pretty and late feb - march seems to be a good sell time for me . if you do contact/order some be sure they are not just trying to pull it outa eastwood's warehouse . ( jegs does not ) that plating thing looked kinda interesting .
heh yea I may have to send a straw purchaser in there to collect a couple cans. Thanks for the help ---------- Post added at 08:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 AM ---------- thanks I will check this out also
seymour caliper paint - gold . $8.95 12oz can . pic at TP tools and equipment - canfield , ohio . amazon came up too but it was like $15 there . i just searched "seymour caliper paint" . says good to 300 degrees and resists gas , lube , abrasion etc ? the pic of the brake backing plate in gold looked pretty good to me - i'm no expert though .
I drove to Mustangs Unlimited and bought the only can of eastwood they had in stock. At least it gets me moving again while I research alternatives Thanks for all the help
