I am trying to install a set of reproduction Convertible Sun Visor Brackets on my 67 Skylark Convertible. These are the brackets near the doors where the convertible top latches when closed. Unfortunately, they did not come with new mounting screws and the others seem to have walked off. Can anyone help me get the right screws that I need to install these? I'm guessing they are Chrome because the brackets are Chrome, but that's where my Sherlock Holmesian skills hit the wall. If I had pictures or screw details (size, threading, etc.), maybe I can find replacements at the hardware store. If anyone knows of a source, that would help too. Thanks! Alan
I have a set (6 screws, 3 each side) off my 4-dt '67 though I'm not certian how similar they are for a ragtop. I can try to see if I can find them later tonight.
I don't know if the screws are the same, but I know the brackets are different. Maybe someone else on the board will know:Comp:
Well if you (we) don't get an answer by tonight I'll pull them out. One of few things I bagged, labeled and tripped over the other day looking for some other random part.
I don't think the visor screws are the same as the latch plate scews. I have a 64 Skylark convt. and the screws are much larger. I can get you a photo of the screws if needed.
I don't know if this helps, but here are some pictures with measurements of 1964 Special/Skylark non-convertible visor screws:
Photo would help a lot. There are 3 screws that mount this latch/visor to the windshield frame. the top latches down to this bracket
Here are some pics of the visor screws I have from my '67 4-dr post sedan, I also took a picture of the visor bracket, though i realize it's different, it at least gives some comparison as to how long the screws would be. Screws, I only shot one but I have 6 total. Visor bracket:
Found mine. I am missing one for my car but I believe this it what you are looking for. They are 3/4" long. I am pretty sure they are 1/4"-20 thread.
