??It has an electric choke on it, though it is not hooked up. I think the 66 models did not come with electric choke option ???
is there a threaded nipple that comes off the choke? My '67 2-bbl carb has that and it goes to a metal tube that runs down to the passenger side exhaust manifold. I forget what the proper term for the set up is.
I mean it's a 2-bbl Rochester Carb if that's what you're looking for. Take the numbers off that little metal tag and it should say what it was originally built for.
Thanks Bill...yup I just found this: http://www.chevellestuff.net/qd/rochester_carbs.htm And although the guys at the shop think it is not original, the tag says it is indeed a 1966 Buick Two Jet Federal model. UNless of course our cars never came with these? ButI bet they did...
Looks like the original setup to me. That year you could order a GTO with three of them. It's just missing the tube that runs from under the choke coil housing down to the exhaust manifold, which Bill pointed out. Someone probably put the electric coil on because of this. Also, check that hose clamp on the fuel line, you may find it's loose. Devon
If you check out the arrow I added to your picture, I think i can just make out the nipple or mounting point for the tube. They may have disconnected it and tossed it. Does that choke have wires coming out of then?
