http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...300750972191&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:MOTORS:1123 What is the group think on this one? If it is real the price seems low. The VIN as claimed would indicate a Stage 1, but there are no photos of the cowl tag or engine block markings. In my mind it seems something is amiss. If not a Stage 1 appears clean and has what appears to be a nice BBB 455 under the hood. The exterior looks sharp. The car is in NJ. Does it belong to a member? Eric.
"Originally a Code 40 Fire Red car" ??? "The NOM but correct 1241735 casting number 455 has been built to Stage 1 specs" As always....a dealer and one with a bad review. http://businessfinder.nj.com/115872/National-Auto-Outlet-Florence-NJ
Another big concern is how a 25,000 original mileage car has no matching numbers anywhere in the drivetrain.
I think what Korrie was driving at is the total lack of a code 40 color in 1972. There were codes 43, 45, and 48, all shades of green, but no 40. Fire red was code 75. And it now wears "Starmist Blue" paint. I will assume he means Stratomist Blue. I would recommend checking the car carefully prior to purchase, and checking the dealer's reputation even more carefully.
I like built to "stage 1 specs" and later says find a set of stage 1 heads and really increase the cars value? I really like the car though if it is a stage 1 but man there are a lot of holes in this cars story.
I wouldn't say there are meaningful holes in the story. I'd say he's hyping the car as many private sellers would as well. Suggesting Stage 1 heads increase value is probably true, but perhaps not significantly. And does it really matter how many miles the body traveled ? What matters is the condition.
I've spoken with the owner several times as I'm bidding. There are more holes than you can imagine. :Brow:
