    Dear People at V8Buick.com,

I recently bought a 64 LeSabre Wagon. The last american owner of this car I "know" is a guy with the username "SwitchBladeCustoms". I anybody knows him, please tell him about this thread. I attached a picture of the car when i picked it up.

    Hey guys,

I'm sorry, I didn't really find out how to create a sig. But I will. And yes, I will post some more Photos soon, to capture the progress of this project. And I'm sorry, but I will paint the car in a different colour soon. It needs some bodywork anyways, and I'm just not that into blue.

    Hey guys,

thank you for being so nice and all the advice. I think I got the signature right now, had some problems with my ston-age browser in the office.

I do live pretty close to Bamberg, in Erlangen, but the pictures were taken in Wetzlar. And yes the last owner was a guy named Peter. The Wagon couldn't make him happy, since he doesn't know how to fix electrical issues, so I bought it and will take care of it now. First of all I removed the Wildcat "nose" from the grill. That would have looked good if it would have been a complete Wildcat grill, but I absolutely didn't like it this way, so it had to go. I'm trying to track down a grill emblem right now, I found one for just 400$:( so I might gonna build a custom grill. Oh and if anybody has an instrument panel for sale, the one I have is broken, I would totally buy it.

    Raoul,

CTC Autoranch in Denton, TX has 3 model year 1964 LeSabre (sedans) parts cars in their lot.
So maybe they can help you out with a dashboard :TU:

Did you noticed Peter's Blog about the LeSabre ?
It shows photos and text from July 2009, when he picked the wagon up in Bremerhaven.

Shipping the wagon to Rotterdam would have been cheaper:

    Wetzlar - Bremerhaven = 444 KM
    Wetzlar - Roosendaal = 391 KM
And the import tax (you have to pay that over the combined purchase costs + the shipping costs) is a lot less in the Netherlands.

    Raoul,

Here's something you have to check on the car, or maybe Peter already fixed it ?
    That flywheel really wobbles:

This is what Peter had to pay to have the car imported:

For best results place your parts needs in the Parts Wanted section on tis Board. Use a title like, "64 LeSabre Dash Needed".

    Hey Erik,

I know how to google stuff, I just thought you might know the last american owner of the car located somewhere in NC, that's the reason I asked. I know the blog and all that, this is how I found the wagon. I was googling (is that correct?) for something completely different and came upon the shipping story of the wagon.
Also Peter is a well-known person in the german vintage car scene, so his (former) blog was nothing new to me. I added him on Facebooke and talked about what I was originally looking for, street legalisation of an air suspension on a vintage licensed car (bureaucracy sucks in germany, you've no idea). Two weeks later I had a business meeting just 20 minutes from where he lives. I called him, met him, saw the wagon, bought it.

I already mentioned that I got it cheap, I know what he paid, and I meant it. The flywheel is all new, but some "professional" in Hamburg f'd up the electric system so this has to be redone, but that's not a big deal since I'm an electrician.

The only thing is the car was standing outside for 1.5 years so there's some rust that showed up. Doesn't matter, it's a hobby, right? So I can spend time and money on it without feeling bad.:bglasses:

    Welcome!
A friend of mine in High School drove a '64 Estate Wagon. I have lots of memories of riding around in it back then.
Wasn't as nice looking as yours though.
