Hi Guys I have a rough but functioning 72 Skylark 350. It has no fan shroud and no electric fans so cooling in marginal in traffic. - Can I source a correct shroud - if so where? - If not will the 350 Chevelle shroud fit? - Finally, would you recommend electric and if so is there a make and model you can suggest? I did search the forum and couldn't find a previous answer to this. Many thanks for your help. Simon
How about making a thread on the "parts wanted" section over here: http://www.v8buick.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47
Off topic, but that car in your avatar is gorgeous. What color is that, burnished cinammon? As to the original post, send a private message to Mark here on the board (screen name carmantx). He has a bunch of parts and may have one he could sell you.
Thanks! Original paint shoud be Rosewood but its been respraid. More pictures here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=234864 I don't like that colour myself and the paint condition is max 5 out of 10.Looks great from pics tho.
Ta performance sells new fan shrouds on their website I beleive. I can't post links yet but its in the cooling section for $190
That's correct, I'd forgotten they list 70-72 350 repros. Keep in mind, they are fiberglass, not plastic as original, and the inside surfaces are rough. Need to call for availability also.
I have one you can have but I am across the nation. It's not perfect. Has a spot fixed with fiberglass.. Shipping would be a bitch..
Hey Mark You are right the previous owner did drive it here from Texas. I bought it soon after arriving in LA for my wife who loved the matt black. It is rust free but mechanically is a mess. I paid way over and keep seing twice the car for half the money advertised but now I'm kind of committed to working through it. The suspension, steering and brakes are now sorted. Cooling and electrics next. Hence the shroud. It's a great way to learn how American cars are built. I brought my nice Jag over with me but prefer driving the Buick even as it is! We use it every day and get so many thumbs up. Thanks again for the help to all who responded. Simon
