We got some great air and weather last night. it dropped into the 60s, so we went to the Street Heat event. I had a new best of 11.68 @ 114.85. I also had a new best 60' of 1.62 however the 11.68 pass was a 1.64 60'. Here is the slip:
Thanx Bill. I bet your Wisconsin blood is enjoying this cooler weather. Last trip to Bradenton Motorsports was an 11.76 @ 113.5. The differences were the weather and the carb. I have a Pro Sytems carb that is not quite right yet, so I built a 750 HP out of some parts I had and ran that. I only got a couple clean passes because it was street car grudge race night and those guys trash the starting line.
It sure is. We were up there last week and loved every minute of it. Much to our delight, we finally have some cooler weather down here. We're heading out for an afternoon ride in the Buick as soon as I finish some paperwork I have to get done today.
Nice job!! I bet you surprise a few people on the street with your set up. I want to get my car into the high 10s or low 11s someday. On street legal day the tuners come out and its surprising how many run in the 11's with their cars.
That engine is in the show car and doesnt get to the track. I almost took it last weekend but decided to take the 67GS400 with the all iron small valve motor. Someday!!!
That engine needs to be at the track! Put a poser engine in the show car and steal that monster for racing! :3gears:
Another new best today at the nostalgia drags. We had a d/a of 700 today and a tailwind. I also pulled 2 degrees of timing out and made a custom 1/2" carb spacer since last trip to the track. Overall it picked up nicely.
Nice runs! It's getting nice out here now, and seeing runs like yours makes me want to get back to the track!
It is great weather. It is fun going faster every time you go to the track. :3gears: I just got this in the mail, so faster times are coming. :Brow:
Went a 7.39@94.29 tonight in 1000 D/A. I could not try to go any faster because I was racing 7.50 index. The numbers say I was on a 7.37 pass on the last run but I had to get on the brakes. Supposed to have some nice weather for test N tune Wednesday night, so we shall see how much more is left in there.
So how did the new cam help you? Is it a roller cam? I can not read the sheet very well because I am literate LOL... Plus the text is small LOL:rant:
It is a small hydraulic roller. 226/234 .598"/.612" on 110. The car picked up a 1.3 tenths over the old hydraulic roller cam (222/224 .566"/.568 on 112). If I were to do it over again, I would go with 230/234. I have never measured it. I just know it is about 150 miles round trip to Bradenton Motorsports park. When I drive it there, make about 5-7 passes and drive home I use 12 gallons. I have not hooked up the lock up torque converter yet. I know that will make a notable difference.
A little bit quicker today. The air was not as good as last trip to the track, but I ported the intake and went from a 750HP to a 950HP Holley.
