This isn't good...the idea buzzards are circling.. if I can just get my wife to give up her garage spot. They say asking forgiveness is easier then permission right?? :Brow:
I know Chris. I know. The problem was I wasn't going to put that in my driveway for a second and there was no way I was going to put that in my garage either. Muncie was supposed to be good but everything else on the car looked rough. The carpet in the back was covered in 2 inches of mud. The trunk was nasty too. Three things killed it for me. Hood not good, not a GS455-no front disc brakes or correct mounts, and tilt/steering wheel were obviously not correct since they were red. I believe it was a factory stick car though but I forgot to look at the speedo to make sure. Shockingly, the left front fender actually looked decent as did the driver's door. As the owner put it, "Sittin' rust not salt rust".
I hear you Brian, but the 4 speed setup alone if complete is probably worth twice the asking price? if it is hooked to a big block and it works that means he has the parts for someone to do a conversion. sport wheel is still a sport wheel, worth at least a hundred, tilt another $100 - $200. 4 speed speedo? rear sway bar? is the 455 installed? if so he probably put in aftermarket mounts which are worth something. I wouldn't want it in my driveway either, but one weekend working on it removing parts and then you probably could get $300+ in scrap metal.... I know that if it was within 200 miles of my place it would be mine. :eek2:
No rear swaybar. Engine is hooked up and turns over with breaker bar. I'm completely aware of the parts value. :3gears: I hope you don't think I'm a fool for wanting to pass it onto my V8Buick brothern. ou:
I bought a car like this and striped it where it was. I left the body sitting for the guy to get the money from the metal scrap yard. This made the price lower for me and I got what I wanted out of the car. Just a idea :beer
That is sort of what I am hoping, I have been tinkering with the thought of swapping things to the thirsty green monster, but the idea of parting it out and getting some funds for much needed essentials is tugging at me harder. But as it stands it is in the owners driveway and not mine, just wishful thinking
Workin on it :TU: Monday was nice and rainy so we rescheduled for today (and it's still raining). I am hoping to get it home tonight.
The gs is on its way to a new driveway as we speak! Looks for parts for sale coming very soon (but the 4 speedsetup is spoken for, a perk of bein taulbs bud for 21+ years) :Brow:
