here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Show...6806771?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item20b7745073 I like that color with the white top, I am a buick admirer dont know much about the "correctness", the owner states car should have buckets, could you get a column shift with buckets? or was the console with the staple shifter a option fpr the bucket interior?
I have one just like it with buckets console and WHITE interior Bought it in 86 been the wifes GS ever since
Just a few things i noticed. Master cyl wrong, no heat stove, pipe or plastic elbow, upper rad hose and the rad is wrong. The story of the seats sounds fishy to me but what do I know. Why would someone that works at Year One not rebuild the numbers matching engine? Wrong wheel center caps too! I do think the car looks great
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that a 12 bolt rear under it? I didn't know that you could get 3.42:1 gears in a 12 bolt. Doesn't look like a '70 16" steering wheel, either. It loks like a nice car, but those were two things I picked up on immediately.
The bucket seats and the operating console were seperate options, so yes, column shift was available with buckets. I have seen several of them. This seems like a nice car, it is a pity that it needs so many parts to make it "correct". It would make a tremendous driver IMHO. Hopefully it is priced as one.
:eek2:ME! yikes!:error: The car got a best of show at AACA in Florida. With the wrong seats and a replacement engine. Those judges were more forgiving than any AACA show I've been to. Or, maybe, they just didn't know?
US Gear and Richmond are 2 I know make 12 bolt gears and I think Precision and Yukon might have 3.42's for the 12 bolt.
Seller is a nice guy and honest. Not a Buick expert so sure a few odds and ends aren't exact. Not going to beat him up about it. I was going to inspect the car last year, But was waiting on Wayne for report and It did not happen in time. Glad to see he got the Docs for it.
I don't know if your aware but Buick events, even Concours there is no deduction for factory correct parts. other words, adding chrome wheels, Rallye steering wheel ect. They don't check numbers like those crazy corvette guys. I bet a very small % of Stage cars are numbers anyways. They were built to be beat on.
