Any interest in complete hose clamp kits for 70-72 GS for fuel, cooling etc? This would be all correct styles and colors(towers, pinch). Also includes the tough to find bypass and vent hose to air cleaner. You can put these together yourself but the work will be done for you. I may be able to do it cheaper than you might from the resto guys. These would be specific to AC/NON and Flint or GMAD built car.
Dave, Get ready to make a bunch of different kits, like the ones for 70 California emission cars, etc. Duane
Would that be essentially the same as the kit that Then and Now sells Dave? Or would it have different stuff? http://thenandnowauto.com/index.php...category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=58
Dave: I would be interested in a set. Would be nice to include a brief description of where exactly each clamp and clip goes. -Ken
Looks like They have me beat however mine may be more refined for each car and be more plant specific. I would also include some not in theirs like air cleaner clamps and Bypass.
Here is what a typical set would look like for a 71 GS 455 Flint car would look like. Notice it includes the Power steering return clamps, bypass, air cleaner. Everything no extras. I would include diagrams. I would try and do this closer to $50 but GMAD built cars would be a bit higher as they used more tower clamps. I have not included plastic wire retainers. I can get the correct ones with the windows in the heads and part numbers on them. They are exact. Most of the other reproductions out there are not correct. Not sure what Mark is using but I doubt they are the nice ones. They are more expensive. A typical 71 would sue about 10 unde the hood. This would ad at least $20 to the price but they are correct.
Here are what correct wire straps look like. Notice the windows in the head. They also have the part # on them and the size. They are exact to what I have taken off original cars. Nice items. Again this would kick up the price. I could offer the set with and without them.
The wire strap on the firewall near the power booster has a different head. It's the only place where its used. Duane
Duane, I have seen that plastic strap on the firewall on 70's. My 71 had a metal clip with rubber coating that snapped closed. This same I have seen on other 71's. The very late 71's and 72's I have seen used a bigger roundish plastic clip. The early71 assembly manual shows these. Picture of my original is below. Which did your 71 car have?
Here is an untouched 71 Stage-1 which was a March or April built car I saw at the GS Nationals years back. Maybe 10? Has the same clip.
Rob, $50 ish before shipping. Depending on AC/Non AC and plant and whether or not I include the plastic clips. Not a definate yet but maybe. I will also include diagrams for correct placement.
Dave, What is the time frame for release. I'm interested in a 70 kit, as long as it is not to far out in the future. Thanks JJ
Are these clamps still available? I am in need of 4 clamps, two upper and two lower. If I am correct, they would be 1 15/16? Dave, PM sent. Mike
