I'm looking for a good driveshaft shop in or around Tampa/Sarasota, FL. My truck needs new u-joints, or so I think, and I'd like the shaft to get balanced and painted while it's out. Not sure if it's common practice to just bring the shaft in to a shop, but I've got practically no tools with me down here, so a shop that would pull it and re-install it would be preferable. Thanks guys for any and all help!
Dependable Driveshaft in Clearwater is an excellent company with good prices...they have done all my d-shaft work for the last 20 years....they know d-shafts.
Is Roger still around? Where is he at now? Everyone that I talk to now is using PST on Overbrook in the old Fred's Driveshaft shop.
I saw PST, looked like they did a lot of custom shafts rather than fixing up old ones. I called and left a message on Friday, hopefully they'll call me back this week. I'll check into Dependable. Just to humor me, does this problem sound like the driveshaft/u-joints? If I'm going between 45mph (right when the torque converter locks up) and 55mph, maybe up to 60mph, and I immeadiately let off the gas, I get a shudder and clunk. It's not really audable, but you can really feel it.
