After what has seemed like forever, my project is pretty much done. It started life as a 67 Special Deluxe with a 300 and a ST300 with a column shift. Upgrades now include: 455 conversion with TA Stg 2 SE heads, roller rockers, Edelbrock intake and carb Turbo 400 with B&M shift kit and Megashifter on floor New tilt steering column Front disc brake conversion Global West front A-arms Hotchkiss tubular rear control arms and sway bars front and rear Eibach springs Body changes included shaving antenna, removing hood chrome, removing side molding strip, and repairing more rust than any one car should ever have. Color is black metallic (previously verde green). The list goes on and on but those are the highlights. Thing I'm most proud of is that all work including body and paint were done by yours truly at home in my garage. Thanks for looking. Mike
Mike that car is beautiful! :TU: So, let's see some interior pics! And tell me about your wheel and tire sizes please.
Only one interior pic so far. You'll notice I'm still waiting for front armrest pads. Seats are generic Procar buckets mail ordered from Summit. Rear upholstery and door panels are 67 GTO, pattern chosen to match seats. Put a GS emblem in the door panels where the GTO emblem would have been. Very happy with the result. The combo looks OE. Radio is a Custom Autosound unit with original 67 Buick knobs installed on it. Wheels/Tires : American Racing 200S wheels - Fronts are 235/45 17 on 17 x 8 rims with 5" backspace. Rears are 255/45 17 on 17 x 9.5 rims with 6.5" backspace. Tires are BFG KDWS.
I love it! Had a 67 a few years ago, which I still miss. Almost painted it black, but stuck with original color. Still keep my eyes open for a black 67. The wheels really look good on yours!:beer
Looks great!!! I like the clean look. I did some of the same things to my current 67. I like 67s too. I bought the one Roger still misses, and have had a few more. This is my current 67 http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=205298
Looks Sharp! I always appreciate someones work done to their own car rather than farm the work out and throw $ at it. Great Job :TU: Ray
Mike, the car looks very good, you must be living right and a very busy guy.I have to say though, you forgot the money picture,me want to see the Staged bullet.:beer
Nice car. How are the Procar seats? I've been thinking of ordering a set for my '64 Skylark. Do you sit too high or are they at the same level as the stock seats? Did they bolt in or did they require some fabrication? Thanks.
You have to get their mounting brackets with them. My car was originally a bench seat cat so I had to also use the bench to bucket seach coversion brackets available at most restoration shops. When first put in I found that the seats were a little high for me, but I'm 6'3". The Procar mounting brackets stood the seat up off the floor a little too high for my liking so I cut them down and rewelded them to lower the seat to the floor by about and inch and a quarter. This worked about right for me. If your car already has buckets and you are ok with them being a little high, they are mostly a bolt in. Otherwise you will have to do a little fabrication. Mike
NICE CAR MIKE'', I havea 67 special also. its nice to know that the possibilities are endless NO BETTER FEELIN THAN KNOWING YOU DID ALL THE WORK!!! THANKS FOR PICS KEVIN:TU: :TU: :TU: :TU: :TU:
Jeeze! That looks AWESOME. I got a 69 Special Deluxe with the original everything besides the rims. Even the original Chevy 250 I-6.
