I was 8.90 at 156 with a 1.45 sixty foot. we had full boost in first gear but we only had 12 pounds in second and third. We had the same issue the previous year but we thought we fix it but we were wrong. But with a bunch of question asked of guy's way smarter than me we think we figured it out now. the converter was the one for my big inch motor so it was way to tight it would stall the car when put in gear it was funny having to two foot it felt like high school again. but about 200 feet out it was like some one cracked it with a whip it ran 5.50 something at 128 in the eighth that thing makes some steam for sure. We have made a couple of changes to the car and the motor going to get the converter fixed for it andit should run pretty good I think

Ok I'm stuffed with turkey and spuds so now i can type this up Well this thing started as a N/A back when I was running in GSE with the heads we have they are basically a really good small block Chevy head so I started to rethink what we were doing I had built some sbc that were making more power than we were on a motor 40 to 50 cubes bigger. So that how it all started small cubes big RPM and with the combo we had I figured we could make more HP and be able to weigh less. But then I bought a procharger and it changed my way of thinking. This is what we did I started with 75-76 block sonic tested it checked the lifter bores and started the hard part. We built bearing spacers for the block they are a bolt in piece. I machined the block to allow me to ad extra bolts on the center three and clamp against the block. Then I built 5 new main caps the hardest one was the back one but I managed. I cut out the bottom of the girdle to allow the forth bolt to go thru the cap and girdle and clamp both. It also has a halo built by us on it . It also has a lifter bore girdle in t just in case. Once it was all built and mounted then we grouted it and did the rest of the block work. When the rear cap was built it was designed to except a v-6 rear seal so we had to build seal spacer for the block half of the rear seal. Typical oil mods were made and we run a scavenger oil plate on it for pressure. The crank was destroked to 3.480 and we widened the rear main to drop in to the factory 455 location. We also double keyed the snout for the boost. I just hit the high points of this deal it was a ton of work and Im not sure yet if it is a good way to go we havent beat it hard enough yet. But I will trust me I will. We have since we run it started building a crank snout support to help the small main size under the pressure from the super-charger. you will be able to tell that this project was started a few years ago. I got a little rust on the out side but that won't stop it from making power LOL
Bobb, did you consider aluminum main caps? Mopar 440 blocks are generally considered to take 650 hp before the main webs will start cracking. Using aluminum main caps extends this up to 750+ hp. I know aluminum main caps sound weird but a lot of Mopar engine builders swear by them if an aftermarket block isn't in the budget.
michael this motor with that flat tappet cam made 1370 hp and 1028 foot pounds of torque with 18 pounds of boost. when we ran it at the track we were only getting 12 pounds of boost but we ran just a bit over 156 MPH with a 3735 lbs car. that calculatated round 1150 hp to run that MPH. it might be able to
Jeff thats just funny I hope it makes it a couple months. something like this thing is just a big guess and we cross our fingers we just try to push thelimits and try and find ways to make those limit further out there.
Jeff I love it that thing will be BA for sure. the only thing I saw was you should get an extreme volocity hat. We are takeing my sons 370 inch small block and mount the p1sc on it tomarrow it is a forward facing unit but we will most likely side mount it just for room on his street car.
I was thinking it was a N A induction. With boost, now that is different. Bobb, You got that much power with a flat tapet cam even with boost?
The hat is just something to get me going. So the Procharger disease is spread through the whole family....
michael yew we got that much powerwith a flat tappet and I think there more there but we stop due o the amount of boost we were making. the peak number were both at 7000 and I just could push it anymore. yah Jeff Anthony has done all the work himself he ported the headsand did all the block work we did have to send the crank out to have it stroked. it should be interesting how it runs. I'm not sure if anyone has ever stroked a small block buick before or not
