I did a search but came up short... Who makes a 70-72 GS repro hood tach. I dont plan on getting one soon but im making a parts\mod list and I need some leads. Thanks Louie
I put the Parts Place one in my car and I'm happy with it. Maybe the lens in the one you got was defective.
i just went through everything the parts place had and it looks like over the next few months i will be buying a LOT from there... are they a good supplier? Louie
Well, I can only speak from personal experience but I have always had good service from them. Whatever i have wanted has been in stock, and whatever I have ordered has been shipped quickly and I always get the right stuff. But the best part about them I like is that they have never ripped me off with phoney trumped-up shipping charges. They always ship the best way for me, which in my case is almost always USPS, as I'm in Canada and this largely avoids customs issues. And the shipping charges are always fair. OPGI on the other hand - my experiences have not been so good. Because it's in their catalogue seemingly has no meaning as to whether they actually carry that part. I have ordered and waited and waited and waited - - well you get the idea. Then I had to wrestle with them to cancel the order and refund what I had already paid. Even when I went there in person one time when they were in Huntington Beach, they handed me wrong parts over the counter and I had to correct that before I left!
No drain hose but the are vented, have a look at The Parts Place tach....seems to look like a good repo to me but i'm no expert? I hope to install and have working this winter.
>>Hi Louie, The Parts Place sells a repro in-dash tach as well. In fact, I will be buying one in the future from them for my Skylark - and yes, you can install it where the factory clock would be. Do a search on the board as there was just a thread recently about the tach harness necessary for the swap. Just a note on the repro in-dash tach - I have heard from people who have the repro that you get a halo of light at night from them - if you look on George's Buick Performance Club website there is an article on taking the repro tach apart to paint a certain section of in the inside to prevent getting the halo.
