I remember seeing this car discused on the board and the owner asking what it was worth. well evidently he has determined that it's worth 25 grand..o No: I tend to disagree. you can buy a nice 69 GS350 or GS400 for 25 grand that needs NOTHING. I predict a no sale http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969...sid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65:12|39:1|72:317
he states good materials alone will be $1500-1700 and i'm betting the rust repair would eat up that $2400 before any paint work was even started
After looking back at the posts here on board, I think we'll see a no-sale or some serious negative feedback after this is over. He's obviously hiding the vinyl top cancer using those far away pictures. Sales like this are why buying a car over the internet is so dangerous. I was scared to death when buying mine, but it turned out to be just as good as I thought it would be...maybe even a little better.
His reserve could be $8K I don't use "buy it now" very often when I'm selling, but when I do I usually set it very high... just trying to snag the guy that "just has to have" what I'm selling. Ya never know.... o No:
I thought he said on this board he would sell it for 5K? 25K sounds like he thinks he has gold because its fireglow.
doesn't matter what his price is. The misleading description and lack of pictures that show the true condition would make any buyer mad when the took delivery if they bid based on that description.
I exchanged emails with this guy when he ran the auction a week or two ago. It ended with one bid of $5k and I advised him to take it. He told me he had nine offers over $25k. Obviously the $5k bid was a shill and the seller is full of crap. This is a $3k-$4k car tops.
$5k is about right to me. We recently bought a 70 350GS in a little worse shape for $3500. If you do this 69 right it will need the whole 9 yards too.
Here is what 9k buys you at a buick dealership in Vancouver. It is a nice car, 69 GS 350 :http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/ctd/1195773043.html
... who ever buys it now for $25K needs to add this to it - its only $750 and has the WRONG shifter ou: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
I wonder where he gets the 302 painted Fireglow. Probably pulled it out of his ass. Here's what a nice one looks like. p
I wasn't trying to bust his balls or anything. But I do think (judging by the pictures that we have seen here on the board) that this car is being misrepresented on ebay. Negative feedback or a relisting is in the future I believe.
