Beautiful spot for the picts , David are you familular with the area ? I thought someone might recognize this car ? :TU: Chuck
Looks like the Hudson River but he does not mention the town he is in. I live on the otherside of the river on the Westchester/Putnam border. I have never heard or seen that car around or the one of state from me that is on the board now for sale for $150K. I have owned my white GSX since 1975 & have only heard or seen maybe 8 in this area in all those years including yellow ones.
Yep that's the Hudson River in Nyack. There is a nice park down there along with some real nice upscale homes right on the river. You can see them from the TZ bridge heading into Rockland. I used to live about 10 minutes away in Palisades. Upper Nyack is right over the TZ Bridge get off the first exit off the bridge, just north of the bridge. Not too far from me now, about 40 minutes. Like John I have never seen it before. I know there are two classic/exotic foreign car dealers in the Nyack area, maybe it is being sold by them.
I just google earthed it and scrolled up the river till I found the pool and driveway in the pics. I'm board today.
Wayne Roberts runs the GS Historic Society and he has possession of the Buick Production microfiche records for about the 2nd half of 1970 (from a certain production number). So, Wayne can verify the authenticity and original build configuration of the Buicks for that production window. His documentation proves a car is real and not a clone, etc. All GSX production (there is a narrow exception for a couple "GSX's" like the original prototype GSX Brad Conley owns and maybe another very early production car) occurred in the latter half of 1970, so they are all in the records owned by Wayne. The Sloan Museum in MI has records for Buicks in the other part of 1970 as well as earlier Buick production records.
<center>Kenny, Do you think they would have mine? It was made in Fremont, California I've never looked into this before.... I ain't sure what all the numbers mean... <center> <img src="http://images.scottfisher.multiply.com/image/1/photos/3/600x600/102/VIN-GS2.jpg?et=CFEBq5tRZRbrB5lh6AjNXA&nmid=128721847" width="699" align="center"> <center><img src="http://images.scottfisher.multiply.com/image/1/photos/3/600x600/101/VIN-GS.jpg?et=Ih2VXUJYXj2r2b30NhUpBA&nmid=128721847" width="699" align="center"> <br> <center><img height=79 alt="Why not Click Here Now for Live Streaming of KFOG-FM San Francisco, San Jose, California" "Leave it on while you work!" src="http://images.scottfisher.multiply.com/image/1/photos/12/600x600/8/sm-kfog-logo.jpg?et=6CG4K3A5KDl7GY28c5Iz4A&nmid=213366649width="132" align="center"> Another Friday night, Bro.... Maybe I'll get lucky tonight, LOL Have a great Holiday weekend !
Sloan has early half of 1970 and 1972. They do not have 1971. The 1971 microfilm is gone. If you post this separately under the documenting there are others on the board that can help you. I can tell what the first two lines mean but I am not sure I have all the information for the third line. I will have to look through my documents. ST 71 -43437 Z 01990 BDY TR 166 D80 62 62 PNT 06C 510476 68030 71 = 1971 43437 = 2-Door GS Coupe Hardtop Z = Freemont CA plant 01990 = Individual sequential body number 166 = Saddle Vinyl Bucket Seats B80 = ???? 62 62 = Bittersweet Mist solid color hardtop with no vinyl top 06C = body build the third week of June I am not sure what the other number are for. I think they are option codes. Mark
Scott, '71 is really hard to document if there are no original car records. The fact that GM started consolidating the VIN's doesn't help, either. But, someone did end up finding the '70 records - at a swab meet - and there are rumors that the '71 microfiche was floating around MI in the same manner, so it may pop up also.
Thanks Mark, gsxnutcase, For the info on SLOAN. I don't know what the other charcacters/ numbers are either. Scott <center>Mark, I took you up on your good advice. I forgot about the documentation department, LOL Thanks http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=176518
This GSX is not in the registry. I emailed to get documentation on the car and the response was it is real. I did not get a copy of the documentation. I do not have any specific knowledge on the car. Mark
