I need some inspiration. How about posting some pics of the finished project? :TU: Here's what I'm starting with: o No:
Hey, Do you guys know if these doors are the same as the 2 door post cars? I'm looking for both sides. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ray
Jeff, The rear doors of a 4 door post are different. But I believe the front doors are the same. Several years ago, I found a 71 Skylark 4 door hardtop with inside door panels that have the same design as a 71 GS. They look great in my Sportwagon!!! I think that I have an extra set of tail lights. Does your car have the gas door guard? I have been unable to get my car out of storage, to take some photos, because of the weather.
Red= You Blue= Me About 2 months ago, a friend e-mailed me to let me know that a 4-door Skylark had shown up in a junkyard near him. It was Thanksgiving time and they were having a 1/2 price sale. I drove two hours to that yard only to find out that it was a 4-door Hardtop. ou: He had already taken everything else of value and so I only bought the seats as mine were worn out. Kinda comical, now but it wasn't funny them. :ball: Let me know about the tail lights. Thanks. BTW: The door panels had been recovered in a pattern that I did not like, so I didn't buy them, either. o No:
Jeff, I did not have any damage on the house. Being without power, heat, and phone for four days is no fun!!! I have the taillight assemblies. I will take $45 for both, including UPS ground. I will throw in the gas tank guard for $10 more! John
John, I hope you are going to bring that Sportwagon to the GS Nationals. I had a wagon much like that one. 455, TH-400, 3.42 posi and a GS hood. The one that burned up in a fire. It did make Car Craft Magazine while it was burning. But that's another story. I would like to see your wagon. Regards,
Sorry, John, my schedule has been crazy for the last week. I had one more guy who was supposed to be sending me a set. Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of the country for the next 10 days and won't know if he sent them until I get back. Sorry if this creates a problem for you and I'll understand if you have to sell them to someone else in the meantime. Your wagon looks amazing and maybe mine will look even 1/2 as good as yours when I'm done. Too bad for me that it is only one of several projects I have in progress at this time; and, of course, with almost no time to do them!!! o No: By the way, I do have a gas filler trim piece. I found it under a bunch of stuff, in a box marked "71 Skylark Parts". I forgot I had it.
