hi. im looking at buying a buick 455 from a 73 lasabre. will the 455 bolt up to my tranny? i have a buick 350 in my 72 skylark now with a th350 tranny im guessing. will it work? any help at all would be great.
I run a 350 transmission behind my 455 (462). Any 350 transmission will work as long as it is a BOP (buick/olds/pontiac) one.
It should bolt right up to the block, but you may have to drill holes in the flexplate for the converter - I did when I put a '72 455 in front of my '71 TH350.
Another issue is now you need to rig up a "kickdown" cable as opposed to the 400's electric switch and I believe you will have to modify your driveshaft length...... J
im pretty sure i did :idea2: its been almost 2 years though....now you have me questioning myself :idea2: :idea2: perhaps i was wrong...whats in my car then? uh oh....hahao No:
Trust me, you didn't. The SBB flex plate is flimsy compared to the BBB. The balance is different, and the 455 crank is much bigger than the 350 crank.
