Hi, I have a 66' Buick Skylark with a 300 engine and a 2 speed sp transmission. A buddy of mine has a turbo 350 for sale and tells me it will bolt up. Is this true? I keep hearing about POB bolt patterns and just wanted to make sure before I spend the money.
as long as the th350 is a bop ( buick, olds, pontiac) it will bolt right in and wont require any driveshaft changes.
just so you know what you're looking at as far as bell housings are concerned: http://www.teambuick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9781 http://www.teambuick.com/forums/view.php?pg=ident_automatic also the TH-350 could come with either a long or short tail shaft, just like a TH-400. the long shaft units are fairly rare so as long as it has either a BOP or dual pattern bell you'll probably be good. measure your SP from bell to yoke and compare that to his trans. a long shaft unit could be made to work but as mentioned you'd probably have to have the drive shaft shortened and you might have to move the trans cross member.
