Ok so I just bought a 65 Skylark vert and I believe it's in Dehli N.Y. which is upstate ny. I did a mapquest and it's 180 miles to my house.:TU: Anyone around there or here in N.J. that would be willing to pick it up?
Green with white top??? I was watching that auction when the seller pulled the ad. Looks like a good one:TU:
Ha ha ha ha, yea Walt that was the one. Not too bad huh? He got no bites for half his week long auction so he offered it to me.:TU:
Contact Brian @ Northeast Cargo Carriers. He has haued several cars and a few large mowers for me and he is top notch! 860-463-0127. Bob
Uship dot com and the guys will bid to get the lowest price to you. I used to be a mover and groover.
Spoke to Brian this morning and waiting to hear back from him.:bglasses: But it sounds like his price is sweet. I couldn't go pick it up myself with a friends pick up and get a uhaul tow dolly for the same money, so hopefully he'll call me with good news tomorrow!!! Thanks for the lead Bob.:beer Oh and he did remember you, I told him I got his number from you.
Still trying to get this car home. Brian told me it won't be for another 2 weeks or more before he can help me. Without charging me an arm and a leg. Anyone.....Anyone.....o No:
Is it driveable? 180 miles is not too bad. That sounds like a Saturday to me. I would drive up in my daily driver(not a Buick, Saab 9-5) for good gas mileage with a friend, & follow each other home. Leave at 5-6am & be back for dinner. Joe, are you going to Yardley's on May 10?
It doesn't run. He told me last year he had a guy who worked for him try to tune it up and it hasn't run since then. I know I can get it running after I get it though. Yes i'm going to Yard's blowout!!! I think i'm meeting up with the Long Island bunch so we can run up together. Where you coming from?
Please, God, clear skies for May 10... Maybe we should take some tools, points, plugs and a carb & go get that car.:TU:
Just get a friggin tow bar. Or a buddy and a good chain. Slow and steady wins the race. I pushed my damn car home 15 miles once.
Ok so here's the update: I took Troys advice and tried the ushipit .com and got someone to pick it up for $250. Cheap for a 200 mile haul. I got the car last night. In the middle of the night. Got to bed a 4 am and it hasn't stopped raining today and haven't been able to get a good look at it, but I allready see it needs interior floor and trunk. Which is normal for any unkept vert. I also see I need lower quater patches and will make a thread in parts wanted. So thanks Troy for the info on the shipping site!!! I would recommend it to anyone looking to ship a car!!
LOL, yea I even had to replace the floors on my 65 and this car was stored in doors for 25 years. It's a northeast thing. No biggie, if you have the cash.
