while the motor is still in the car, you can get the timing cover off in under a hour with out getting under the car. That is using only hand tools
Many years ago when I worked for Buick I could pull the timing cover , replace the crank seal , reinstall and drive out of shop in less than one hour . No I didn't take a coffee break .
Ken I think you are talking about me now, on being too old to push the clutch by the time I get it back together , so I will just use an automatic . o No:
Oh OK sounds a lot like mine . My car has been parked for over 4 years and the biggest part I have done is puling the bumpers , but I do have a ton of parts . I hope and pray I can find them when time for reassembly starts . Some of us older guys have memory problems . p
LOL, you got it! Dave Shaker was here last night looking aghast at all the parts lying around. He pratically begged me to let him help get the resto going it was breaking heart so bad!
And you stopped him because ??? ??? You lost your secret decoder ring which let's you decypher the treasure map deailing what parts were stored at who's house ?!?!
...when you have the exact combination of swivel sockets and extensions memorized for each bolt to unbolt (or install) the tranny from the motor (while in the car, of course).
