Friend in Arizona sent these pics of a car that would make a great Pure Stocker with whatever small block and a 4 speed was available on these 65 Custom 300's. Found it in Idaho, has only 11k original miles. Color is Azure Aqua.
Same color as my dads '64 Chevy. I believe these were available with a L79 327-350 engine. Would make a great pure stocker for sure.
This car reminds me of the 64 Bel Air that another found here in a garage here that hadn't been out since 1968 and had only 8700 miles on it. I posted the link on the Yenko site and a big time Chevy collector bought it for $7k. It had an inline six and 3 speed column shift, but was an original 409-425 hp car and he had everything to put it back that way. Check it out under members rides in the Bel Air Bob's 409 thread (about last summer or so, original post I made was a year earlier). Coincidence that this Chevelle also is a 64. Tom: If you (or anyone else) is serious, I can give you the contact info, but fair warning, this guy is a big time high dollar collector in Phoenix and knows what it's worth. Unlike myself, he has no money issues; but like myself, retired and very patient these days. I have no idea what he paid for it. Ken: I love that color. We chose it when we customized my 1952 Ford in 1964 when it first came out. 18 coats of hand sanded and hand rubbed lacquer. Lots of clear added in the final coats. It was flawless. That car was also a mint six cylinder grandpa's car with next to no miles on it when I got it. We put over 250k on it.
Supposedly that butcher job occurred in the early seventies and has been languishing in some back alley since then. That's got to be the easiest way to speed up an Oldsmobile that I've heard of.:spank: RUSTY SMALL, FIX YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few more bolts are out. I plan on finishing up tomorrow. I heard Hodges was looking for the Vegas odds on me getting the thing finished before St. Louis. I am aiming for the late part of April!
Yeah, here's the Katrina-mobile: This sure is a long, cold winter. Rusty, Take your time and do it right. Use the retiree mantra: "Why do today what can be put off until tomorrow."
After careful consideration the only thing this pukemobile needs is a Mod top and interior, :moonu: what do you MOPAR guys think
I'm with you. What a nauseating color on an otherwise beautiful car with very tasteful modifications. Would look great in a tu-tone light and dark green!
