No, I will steer clear of the whole mess. I've been advised I'm better off. I knew I shouldn't have passed on Jim's wheelou:
>>The guy I mentioned in this post just contacted me again and lowered his price to $175 plus shipping. Seems very reasonable if this is indeed a sandalwood sport wheel which it looked like from the pics. Contact him for the pics if you are still interested.
KC, I just wanted to post up a couple of pics. These are two wheels I bought. Both were supposed to be Sandalwood. The 16" I got from Jim is on the right it is the best match to my interior but is not a perfect match. The 15" on the left is more of a tan or buckskin color. I'm just posting this up for a color comparison. [/IMG] [/IMG]
Sandalwood wheels are color match challenged. I don't know if it is the light color of the material that makes it more obvious when its off or what. I just chalk it up to the fact that close enough on all those different materials was good enough back then. 1969 Buckskin is also a fraction of a shade off from 1970 Sandalwood in practice as well believe it or not. My 69 stage 1 is buckskin and my 1970 Stage 1 is Sandalwood and they are not quite the same color. They are both original to the cars they are in. The 70 car matches pretty well to the dash pad but the kick panels, seats and door panels are all off a little to them. I had to stop buying steering wheels unless I could hold them in my hand first because of all the color variations. I would love to find a 1970 Blue 16" sport wheel or 1969 Red 16" sport wheel but I don't have much hope. Good luck
The wheel on the right (16") is the one I need...dare I ask if it is available for purchase by me??ray:
Jim, That wheel you sent me is so close that I wouldn't touch it. KC I'm not looking to sell I just wanted to post up some refernce pics. If I should change my mind you will be first in line.
>>The sandalwood sport steering wheel in my car is similar in color to the 16" one on the right - it matches my dash and carpet very closely.
Chris you have Burnished Cinnamon and a Sandelwood interior....I bet that is a pretty combo. I matched the 16" wheel with my 124 interior it is almost perfect.

>>Hi Alan. Yes, I love the color combo of my car - there is another member in the LIBC who has a 71 Riviera GS with the same color combo as my Skylark - his car looks sharp as well.
KC Wade, I am not sure if this is the color that you are looking for or not... There are a couple flaws on the back of the wheel... Otherwise, it is a very nice wheel, cap, and hub. Let me know. Gil
Yes, it looks to be saddle. Can you pm me your phone number so I can call you on my dime to discuss it?
KC, I have a few questions. Did your car come with a sport wheel from the factory? Do you have an original standard sandlewood steering wheel?
Oh yeah, its in beautiful condition...the car came with a standard wheel/bench seat/column shift. The sport wheel isn't correct for the car as ordered, I just want one to put on
