Joy: With the cars he parts out himself, he should be considered a salvage yard! Thank goodness he has a good supply of parts coming thru. Usually has whatever I need. Steve
He told me that if he had enough $$$ , he'd love to develop his own salvage yard --- as long as it's not in my backyard, I wouldn't mind
Security guard at a wrecking yard? Junk yard trips can be fun but sometimes they aren't worth the aggravation.
I got asked to leave the local yard after taking pictures of cars of interest for the guys. ''NO PICTURES!!!'' I had to give up the disposable camera, or he wouldn't sell me my header panel. Maybe since I have long hair, they thought I was an environmentalist or a hippy or something? Can't go pick up a header panel on a Triumpho No:, and it's dead obvious that I'm not a cop. I know 10 guys that could have bought his parts if they saw the pictures. Whatever, paranoid dude. It's your yard.
Time for an update: Apologies to everyone for not posting an update on this sooner. To make a long story short, I have not really had the desire to return there even though I was informed by the head office that me & my Visa platinum are welcome back anytime. I did however cross paths with Mr. rent-a-cop about six months ago at one of the other locations located even further out of town. I asked him what he was doing there and if he was gonna call the cops on me. He didn't even remember who I was! I refreshed his memory by letting him know that I was the guy that got him re-assigned to his new outpost after his outburst during our last encounter. Suffice it to say that he is not happy with his now extended length of commute to & from work everyday. :bla: Incidentally, Neither my brother nor I were attempting to steal anything but the overlooked extra pieces in question were laying on the seat which my brother had bought. Everything that I took away that fateful day was noted on my sales receipt but officer dumbass would hear none of that when I tried to show it to him.
Wait. This sure sounds like you were caught taking parts that you didn't pay for. according to his story, he was 'caught' with parts that he had put on the parts counter but which the register girl had failed to ring up. i'm sorry, but if i'm having to fight you to get the 25% price discount that a junk yard employee told me i could have i'm not likely to be double checking that you've itemized every single part i brought to the counter that closely. if register girl had been doing her job properly, she'd have accounted for all parts presented to her and she wouldn't have started a fight with the customer.
i got banned for 30 days from our local pick-n-pull a couple years back.i ended up buying a 89 gta from a guy out in the parking lot.(was still on trailer,& he hadn't gone inside yet).manager saw what happened & ran out to give me ****.she said that since it was on here property,i had no right to do that.probably would've been banned longer,if i wasn't an everday customer (it's 5 min from work).wife got a real good laugh.
