Here she is right after a wash: Here she is all ready for a nice evening cruise: Here's "The Shiek" checking to make sure my fender well trim is correct for the year: Here I am ready to hop in and grab hold of the wheel (yes, that's still in there!): I was scared the whole time, sweating bullets as Carl drove her fast around corners and over bumps! Tucked away in her new home, "Carl's Garage of Buick Karma". I'm hoping to open the door one day and see it finished and concours ready! Here's Carl telling me he put racing gas in the death bike: This is the last thing I remember until waking up in the hospital this morning: See? And you guys thought I was slacking off on my Buick GSX resto! p
Many, many, many thanks to Carl for helping to get my baby to a new home. You know what they say, you can have many friends, but a real true friend will help you move bodies! Carl, thanks again for a long night of work and for safely getting my car tucked away! You're the best! :TU:
You're very welcome,Ken!!! Glad we got your GSX to the garage and everything went very well. Now it's concours bound!!!!!
I was waiting for the cops to show up as we were unloading on the street under a street light at midnight! Looked highly suspicious! Um, no officer, I can't prove at the moment that it's my car.... ou:
Inquiring minds want to know why its not in YOUR garage being worked on ... in my book an "X" can kick a 'Cat right out of its bed and take over dominance of the roost
Right now there's two 'Cats in the garage- the low mile driver and a parts car. I'm chasing a '69 'vert duece and a quarter and if I get it, I'll probably sell off the 'Cats as a package. That'll leave the garage open with two bays. One for the Electra, and one for rebuilding the GSX chassis, including complete drivetrain. I won't need the body until the chassis is complete. The body has no real serious issues. Once the chassis is assembled, it's a matter of cleaning up the underside of the body and putting her back on the chassis, then off to paint. (I'm oversimplifying, of course) There is a method to my madness.....
How about some upside down pics? In fact you should have strapped yourself in and then flipped it... an opportunity lost
Ain't that the truth! Maybe I can raise some resto funds- Hurry! Hurry! Step right up! $3 a twirl! :idea2:
I don't care if it's only a body, it still looks good Ken! Thanks for posting some "progress" pictures - looking forward to some shots of the chassis once you're underway.:TU:
....shoulda left it chained on the trailer - then taken truck, trailer and and "X" to Etown .... made a pass and gotten a timeslip o No: :3gears: Its only been waiting 36 years for a trip down the 1320
Would make for an interesting tech inspection! I dunno Alan, Duane pretty much told me if I run it down the 1320 he won't be my friend anymore! LOL I'm sure I'll be tempted to do so, but.... o No: Bill and Paul, thanks for the encouragement! I'm looking forward to getting this project back to moving forward. The last few years life got in the way. Now it's time to get back at it! :beer
