Anyone out there with a decoding ring? Here's what Skip found over the gas tank on the '72GS...

Now, the interesting thing is that my GS vehicle ID is 2H195942. Does this belong to someone else?

    Mike,
That (Skylark Custom) buildsheet is only 9 cars off from yours, that's pretty close for a 71-72 car. Although it doesn't help you any, it was probably built on the same day. From the info you posted it looks like a Production Order Chassis Paint buildsheet. Your Flint car could have had that one or a Production Order Body Final buildsheet. Tell Skip to keep looking, you might find the other one yet.

Yes I can decode this buildsheet, I have done a few of them for other people. If you can get Skip to send me a photocopy I would like it for my files.

I think the Sloan Museum has all the information for the 72 cars, you might want to check into that.

    Hi Duane,

Since it's not a match I'm not so interested in it to ask you to make an effort. I have the document in Illinois now (along with the car). It's pretty dirty but I'll get a photocopy to you around the first of the year if you'll PM me your address.

    Thanks,
