OK, I give up...I keep seeing convertible rear seat dividers in "correct vinyl" in the color of the interior. I don't understand why these would be vinyl covered...I've had my car rough assembled and with the seat in and the well liner in where would you see this piece???

Goes between the upper cushion and the metal seat support that rests between the rear wheel wells.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

    '67 is vinyl covered

On a '67 A-body you do see it. A picture is worth a thousand words, right?

Here is a picture of a '67 GS conv that I checked out for George (staged67power) a couple of years ago. This was the only picture I could find without walking out to photograph my own car. Notice through the back window you can see the rear seat "divider" that covers the ugly metal bracing.

Interesting. My car has the bag that the top lowers into so that area would be covered I think but yup can sure see why a guy would need it if that bag wasn't there (I do believe it attachs at the top of the seat support so hangs over the back....more research i guess).

Thanks a bunch. Beautiful color too...

with my current one i see absolutely nothing unless i try to see it at the mechnisims. but even that i wouldent think the back seat covers would make it that far.

    r72gs Another project........

I don't think the 70-72 cars used them. I've never see one installed in one of those cars.

tim,the "bag" is called a well liner.mine is just like the green 67 pic.i think maybe the liner in yours is in the wrong place.it should attach to the metal frame about 4" above the top motor with phillips screws, leaving about half the back seat showing, therefore the need for a color matching seat divider.i have never seen one mounted to the back top of the seat, seems like your top wouldnt sit low enough when down.but i only know the 64-65 models :pp

Well the whole area will getting painted....I do believe the 70-72 well liner goes right to the top of the seat support (look at Johns in the picture above your post), and the manual shows that as well.

I still need to get one of those mini starters off you as well...everytime I decide to do it something comes up and it gets put off again...like right now is bad timing as I am trying to get this car completed so the spare cash is kinda low... :)

    Jamie,
65-7 models all used a plastic window due to top design.
68 was first year for glass rear window because of new top design.
