my first car is a 76 skylark and it has 56,000 miles on it super nice car... hunter metalic green with a gold pin stripe and had a rawhide interior originally but i changed it over to black. i know these cars are very similar to the nova's, omegas, appollos, venturas, etc...
i have a 455 with a set of iron heads cut for stage 1's being done now... having heads milled to the 70 stage 1 spec of 66 cc chamber, head studs, main studs, oil porting, electric water pump, ta cover, hi volume/hi pressure, with regulator, cam is gsca 230-245 duration, .522/.523 lift, 116* lobe seperation, i plan on doing a built 700r4, i have a 8.5 10 bolt from a super sport nova...little narrower than stock, i have a detroit locker with 3.42:1 gears, ordering some moser axles, rear disc swap, polyeruethane bushing kit, i have competition engineering subframe connectors, ... powertrain wise... car will b fine. i have 15" gs ralleyes...love them car originally had the 14" ralleys.
anyway guys... i am looking for a good front bench seat or possibly bucket seats. rear tail lights as my dad bumped into it with his stage 1 gs years ago and broke them out, pristine rear bumber, bumper plastic inserts that go between bumper and body, core support patch panel where the battery marked its territory...lol, i have the original radio in it with serious satellite radio in the glove box so it looks great but have good tunes too. maybe interested in some chrome trim pieces here and there... if anyone is parting one out or has built one and has a few links you could drop me to help me along it would be greatly appreciated.... i will flat get after it. i plan to get this thing functioning soon. also looking for a/c box... i took it off as a dumb kid and my turbo'd mustang is a factory no a/c car and the buick has to have the a/c as far as i'm concerned. thanks a million guys and pm me if you have something i am in need of. i am in a position to spend some but not alot as i have already budgeted accordingly to my shopping list
    thanks

hey brandon, welcome to the x-body forum. would love to see pictures of your 76!
as far as the parts you need, i have a bench seat in mint shape, but it is tan (saddle) in color i will sell to you for $50 but shipping may be pricey depending on where you live. i also have a decent core support you can have cheap, and know were to find a real nice one. i also have some chrome trim, let me know what you may be looking for. And i have a 76 grill in perfect shape if interested.
good news is there is a guy who sells the bumper filler, bad news is it fits like crap and needs to be "tweaked" to look nice, it is made of fiberglass and does not bend. http://www.replica-plastics.com/

thanks buddy... i appreciate it... i live in central illinois...i will post a pic of it this evening... i will be doing a documented build up of the car when all the parts are here. i am the type that accumulates parts and builds a car in a week or so. i'll be on here alot. i am tired of her sitting in storage unit... i have been living in my house now for 8 years and she has never even been here... i have a couple of super nice spare hoods too for 75-79 skylarks...fyi let me see what i need.

hey phil v. i know exactly where you are from. i used to work for a case ih dealership and i was dispatched on some road calls in fairbury, il. that and one of our vice presidents lives in fairbury il... i lost my job in november so i am gonna get my skylark going... i dont need a th400 but i might know someone who does. i live near decatur il. i am going overdrive... cuz i have intentions of driving this car everywhere.. my mustangs is twin turbo'd and i put a 6 point cage in it so its a jungle gym for the kids but a pain in the but for the wife..lol

on the air box.. i am needing the a/c box yes i took it off years ago. but it was my understanding that you can use a non a/c box off of a full size gm truck and it went right into place... it has to cover up the blend door and the mount is integrated for the motor and the heater core if i remember correctly. i had a buddy that did it with his 77 nova and i was going to do it too... it looked correct when he had it done... i believe it came from a mid 80's gm 1/2 ton truck... in the junkyards everywhere... i would be interested in what you have possibly... pm me with prices. i will post up my cell number in a few days just switched to an unlimited plan and have to watch my minutes for now.

and getting pissed... i cant find the pic of my skylark... the hunt is on!... as soon as i find it... it will be up here... i promise.

If i can get confirmation on the truck box working (not that i dont trust you, i just dont want to be stuck without a box) then i would be willing to sell it all for 50 bucks + shipping (ill lower the price if shipping is high) Is that price high? i dont want to rip anyone off here. As for the A/C box it has 2 holes in it that could be patched with a fiberglass mat (if you are interested still i can take pictures of all) The A/C is unknown condition as the compressor was disconnected when i got the car, but there is no visible damage to evaporator or condenser and hoses have no tears.

P.S. sorry if i already asked you but do you have buick 350 frame and or motor mounts from your skylark? i would do an even trade for those or pay cash if you arent interested in the A/C

i might have... my car was a 3.8 car originally and i believe the 3.8 is the same as the 350 buick... i used as set of steel stock pads and tacked them into place on the car and i am using them as a template to bolt in the cast iron ones i have. i would be interested for that price or trade however you want to do it. i dont care... i would probably be replacing the compressor and hoses any how.. just need to know i have it so that i make sure i get the right stuff when i put it together... basically as a template... u know new parts are always right...lol

here you go guys pics of my skylark... lighting wasnt good to see the paint color but she is very nice, very clean car.. the tinted windows worked well with the dark color paint... and the ladies loved that old car but not as much as me. i'm driving it to my 10yr class reunion next year...
i work on the car a little here and there. that was one of the last times the car ever saw daylight. she has been in storage ever since... i have a 12x30 with power and lights so i go work on it there. now the 14" ralleys are gone and the 15"ralleys are on it with a 275/60/15 tire out back and just some junkers up front that hold air. i have the hood off and the core support out so that i can fix it or replace it but over all no rust... there is a little on the bottoms of the doors but this car has not accumulated rust since i have owned it in 13 years.

again the car is a metallic hunter green color with a tan/rawhide vinyl interior which i changed over to black when i was in high school... and i have the build sheet for it. it was in between the gas tank and trunk floor.

i wish i could use it, thats for non A/C only, the firewall is different between the two. if someone knows how to modify the firewall (ie to patch up spots or anything) please chime in, i would much rather do that then spend 140 on a delete it. Thank you for searching for that though, ill keep trying to look for a replacement to my A/C box, or at the least find you a cheap one.

    Hey Brandon!

He's got a lot of area to cover. I just did my Heater Core last month. The Blower motor/fan goes in the hole on the left, then it has to cover the air door on the right.

I've also started working on having my A/C working this summer:bglasses: Did you know the 3.8L Accessory brackets bolt right to the 455 heads? I've been using the 3.8L Power steering bracket (and pump) since the conversion, but I just recently bolted the A/C-Alternator bracket to it.

cool... i have the motor outta my car now and now a/c box there either... i was a fabricator/welder for caterpillar so i guess a lil sheet metal work is no big deal to me... i forget that sometimes. i am looking for a factory a/c box though as i threw it away years ago... cuz it had a puncture in the side of it.... well i did a ton of research and i can buy every part brand new from classic industries for our x body cars they make all the interior parts for the 75-79 nova's... so i am getting all new interior... little by little. may even go with a factory style floor shift console too. it will be awesome...cant wait!

mysky76... dont get too excited about classic indutsries interior parts, they are all on back order and have been for the last year and a half. they arent making them yet, just putting out feelers out there to see how many people are interested before commiting to making them.
