Would this carb be too small on a 455?

  1. DEADMANSCURVE

DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

    clarification - when I said straight down I should have added "4 hole" . I didn't mean "open" .

When you do braided Line make sure you use teflon not rubber.

I just ordered some 6 an ptfe hose with fittings. I’m going to give putting them together and running them myself a shot.

I have Aeroquip push lok hose for my fuel lines. I will eventually switch over to PTFE hose. The fittings look much easier to deal with.

I almost bought the push lok but read a bunch of stuff that said it shouldn’t be used for fuel. Then some other stuff said you could use it for fuel lol. I figured I’d be safe with the ptfe hose. I used hotrodfuelhose.com. They had some good bundle deals.

The stuff I used was good for all fuels including alcohol. Been on the car for 8 years now. I inspect it all the time. Still looks great with no soft spots or leaks. I'll eventually want to change it over.

That’s awesome..I was definitely considering the push lok as it seems so easy to hook up! Do you use liquid thread sealant on the adapter where it connects to the fuel pump? How about anywhere else in the system from fuel pump to carb? I want to make sure I avoid any leaks during break in so want to get it right.

The push lok fittings are a pain in the butt to get into the hose, but once they are in, they are great. The PTFE stuff looks much easier to install. No thread sealer is required on AN fittings. The nice thing about AN stuff is it seals up much easier. Same for the conversion fittings. As long as they go in straight, and the surfaces are clean and undamaged they seal up fine.
