Ok another Harbor Freight floor jack question..;)

Short story is I live on the 11th floor and it's a pain to bring tools down to work on my car which is located on the far end of the driveway on top of everything else.

My trunk is already filled with some get me by tools but I just don't want to add anymore.

Would you trust this AL floor jack on a 4400 lb. car.
It's at least 1/2 the weight of a similar steel jack or more which makes a big difference.

Like I mentioned it's hard bringing heavy tools down and back up again.
I have to admit the little 2 1/4 jack I bought 10 years ago has worked like a champ so hoping the same.

The duralast jack that AutoZone sells is a good one, it's easy to carry and move around & looks identical to the Pittsburgh.

As long as you use good Jack stands once lifted, that should be fine.

I have on of those aluminum Harbor Freight jacks, it's good but as a small jack it doesnt have the height my big steel jack has..

Is it aluminum by any chance?

Well I have the Harber Freight stands I bought about 10 years ago also, looking at them closely the welds all seem fine though, but I do know the racthet body part is cast which can be dangerous??

Do you have a 1.5 ton AL? and wondering if the 2 ton has more lift height. I haven't had the time to look at all the floor jacks specs as far as height and how low they go.

Google the duralast & see the specifications.
It is a good quality aluminum one.

Nice... I thought of a bottle type jack for minute but wasn't sure of it's height specs.
I like this one which would I think give me more room to climb under the car. I always use a jack stand and a jack side by side to what ever side of the car i'm working on which i'm sure everyone does.
The 4000 lb. jack would work better I think as the 6000 lb. minimum height is 11+ inches as it sits.
What issue's if any have you come across with this style?

I’ve only used it once just to see how it works. I keep it on my truck for emergencies, so unfortunately it just collects dust.

My nephew got a Craftsman jack as a gift several years ago. I had a steel jack that was HEAVY as F#(#, and bought a Harbor Freight aluminum jack. The part numbers on some of the components of both jacks were the same, and other than the decals LOOKED the same.

I have this 3k lb h.f. US General aluminum low profile jack. I bought it to fit under the Vette. It lifts the whole one side of the 3k lb car as the frame is very rigid. Just use jack stands after lifting.

What happened to Sears and Craftsman tools?
Are they only online now? There is one Sears thrift store kinda near me but the items in the store are limited like they are selling off every scrap of merchandise from the original stores.

Yup i'm thinking the aluminum jacks at least are all the same with different stickers..
What I like about these aluminum jacks is the roller up front instead of the wheels on the side that tend to get in the way when setting the stands up.

I still use my big old iron craftsman 3 ton to get the car up for header install from underneath.
