I've picked up lot of stuff from the classifieds here, so I would hate to see them go away. All of my dealings have been jam-up with a great bunch of guys. Absolutely no problems of any kind, at least on my end.

If someone tells you they want a part and they dont fire out the money right away (or at least give an explanation), it makes you wonder if they had any intention of paying in the first place. They prolly think you are gonna send the part out then simply bend over. I hate it for you guys that have been duped.:af:

I dont moderate this forum so it certainly isnt my call, but I think posting names when someone gets taken is a good idea. I sure dont want to deal with anyone that might take me. And I sure as heck wouldnt want my name mashed around in this forum. If people understand they will get called onto the carpet for this type thing, they may think twice. If you arent man enough to do what you say and stick to your word then shame on you.

    Good luck.

What I don't like is one sided feedback!!....If I buy something from someone I leave them feedback and I think they should do the same for me, selling also, I have left feedback for a couple of different members on here and NOTHING in return...I think feedback works BOTH ways, buyer or seller, it shows that both people have carried out their end of the deal, just plain not right to leave feedback for the a person and they don't do the same for you!

I agree. Feedback both ways is crucial. It would be great if feedback could be easier to post and sort through. Maybe something similar to the dreaded E-bay. We could check feedback quickly and determine if the buyer/seller is someone we want to deal with early in the deal.
I also want to add that I have had nothing but great luck dealing with the members on this board, and I hope that the members I have dealt with feel the same about me. I would hate to see classifieds go away or have members just not participate. I have found that the people on this board are willing to give good prices and are usually more honest in their descriptions of the parts. I have found some really difficult items from this site.

I can understand the aggrevations of dealing with dishonest people since I once got burned by an ebay seller who claimed to have never received a money order that I sent and when I did a trace on it after sending another money order I found out that he cashed the original. So far I've had very good luck with the people on this board, they have been honest and trusting and our transactions have gone very smooth. I would like to thank those honest people that are out there and a special thanks to 68 lesabre4dr (bruce and shirley) who sold me some very nice items for my restoration and had it to me before his payment hit the bottom of the mail box. Thanks also to ksplynch who has been helpful and contacting me with some leads. Of course thanks for everyone's helpful advice.

Might I suggest to board members that if you are going to buy something, especially an item that is big bucks or sell an item, maybe you can make a post asking others if they have had any dealings with the buyer / seller and how did the transaction go. This way someone won't get burned a second time if one of the parties is dishonest. Otherwise maybe dealings could be done COD. Just my thoughts.

    my thoughts on fb

i dunno, maybe its just me but i dont see a need for this to become a thank you board.

my thoughts on fb are this. if i am the one who is trusting someone to deliver and they do deliver, then i can post here to show that i was dealt with fairly and honestly. if i send a part before i get the payment, and then i get the payment, i try to always post a nice positive fb that reflects how the deal went. likewise, if i send money for parts and then i get the parts, i try to remember to post that also.

i have sold one or two parts to bb members where i didnt post any fb. its not that i dont appreciate thier business, in fact i do, its just that i was not the one who had to be concerned about delivery or payment, so i refrained from posting.

i did give away one thing someone wanted which cost me about $10.00 to do, and i never even got a thank you. no big deal, but maybe next time i will take the cash since it would've made me feel better than nothing.

while its nice to see the positives get posted, i think its even more important that the problem deals be exposed, very few that there are.

one last thought on fb, i have seen fb posted here that i think had way more details about the transaction than were necessary, and some people would probably actually prefer no fb for security reasons. we never know who is lurking here.

just my thoughts on fb. henry

Anyone I've dealt with here has been TOP-RATE.
Haggle a bit on price only occasionally, problems none.

Feedback?? This is getting carried away!

This isn't evil-Bay, nor would I EVER want it to be ANYTHING like it! :af: :moonu:

"Feedback" IS, and SHOULD BE (publicly posted here on V8 Buick anyways), a common courtesy reply to hopefully what was an excellent transaction between a buyer and a seller! :Smarty:

Why should buyers or sellers feel COMPELLED to publicly post details in a special thread about a 'private', successfully completed transaction?? I can say thank you, or at least, "Hey, I got it (the money or item(s)!)" in PM, e-mail, telephone call, or better yet, in the original thread of the item(s) for sale! There should not be any need to make a HUGE DEAL out of these things... A little common sense and common courtesy should be the rule here... :Do No:

I REALLY appreciate the Family-like atmosphere that I feel here (for the most part)! Trust, respect, and honesty are SOME Family-like traits. Keep these in mind during any dealings and you can't go wrong! :Smarty: :TU:

On the other hand, if things should go sour for any reason, the "For Sale Forum" Moderator(s) should be contacted IMMEDIATELY! I understand that the position is voluntary, and quite time consuming I'm SURE! And from what little I've seen and experienced HERE, I think that's been handled quite nicely! :TU: I'm sure its NOT fun having to deal with some of the crap involved, its pretty sad some of the things that I've read. :( BUT, swiftly dealing with any problems that arise is part of the job description, I think!

PLEASE, let's not screw up this good thing we have here!!!

Just my 2 cents worth

I didn't say ANYTHING about writtin a damn book about the deal, but if you bought OR sold something to someone on here you should be kind enough to leave some feedback good or bad, a bad deal can come from the seller or the buyer, but it pisses me off to leave someone feedback and they won't return the jester....its like saying thankyou to someone and they don't even reply back. Just aint right, but some folks are just that way.
