What’s up with the paint code?

    Special order paint.

I figured that, but was curious as to what that might be.

Could of been anything I think. If the build sheet still exists somewhere in the car, I'd bet the paint color is handwritten on it

    Black was special order?

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

    Or, maybe what's under it?

No, but I bet you that was not the original color.

I had a black 73 Z28. Same data plate etc.
Build sheet said Spc Paint and hand written Blk, like Jason said.

After a little internet research, evidentially black was a special order on a Z-28 in 73. Go figure

Could be several reasons why it hasn't sold yet but one of those reasons...... spelled Camaro wrong in the title.
Search CL for a Camaro and it likely won't pop up.

I think the original color was Plum Crazy

I figured a Mustang guy was selling it. Most Mustang guys I know intentionally misspell Camaro that way.

Geez's! I guess the seller never heard of Spell Check or Hooked on Phonics. Do they not proof read the ad before placing it.

Black paint was not listed as an exterior color for '72 Buick Gran Sports but there many produced. I wonder why GM excluded black from the standard color list for various cars in this era?
