You're right, all the big Buicks had the same wiper switch, '71-'73, and maybe earlier/later.

Not to undercut the seller, but if you just want a good switch, and don't care about NOS, I'm pretty sure I've got one at home I'd be glad to send you for the shipping.

Did a board search of the seller "Originality_plus", and came up with this feedback, FYI.

The 73 has a different print on it than 71. I think it works the same though.

Gotta love those obscure year-model changes... :Dou: I've never looked that closely, but then on most switches I've seen, the print is faded/wiped out, so...

You can swap out the lettering part, or do like I did and print up a new one in a font that's close, then reverse the b&w. Model airplane glue will hold it back together (I used to have all kinds of time on my hands)

    Jean-Luc,

Check with my good friend Rick Bax aka "the Cannibal" right here in the Netherlands,
he will have the same switch (from a Boattail, used not NOS) for less money and lower shipping costs.

I have a few of those i various conditions, bits and pieces. I Could pick up a few more from 72's. Anyone need one, I'll charge the cost at the yard + shipping. I'm not interested in getting one as a shelf ornament for someone...

Wahoo, so many proposal for my switch, that is great ! thank you all. :TU:

James, is your offer still valid ? My switch is OK in apearance, but I suspect some attaching plastic pin must be missing as the whole plate moves a bit when using the switch. I hope it dose not come from the dash where the plate is fixed. Need to take it out first, and then I'll be able to detail my needs.

I've got one, the lettering isn't very good, but you're welcome to it!

Although it sounds like your whole switch may be loose in the dash...be very careful taking it out, that plastic dash gets really brittle with age, or at least mine is :( . It's held in with two prongs at the top, and two on the bottom, most times you can use a really small screwdriver or blade to depress the top ones and ease it out.

One thing you might look at, is taking yours apart and looking at the spring behind the little detent plunger. My spring was pretty stiff, it made the whole switch operation stiff and very "clicky". I cut a couple of coils off that spring, and it works a lot smoother and easier.

Let me know if you find you need this switch.

Buick did make a change to the big car wiper switch around 73-74 to add a 'mist' position. You could just hold down the switch to activate the wipers and they would park when the switch was let up. I replaced the one in my 72 with the newer one and it works fine. I'll have to look through my Buick literature to see when Buick changed it.
