Taking out the original warmed over 350 and installing Stage 2 headed 464" BBB built by John Massoud, new set TA Stage 2 headers with jetcoat. Backing it with Coan converter (Max Performance model), with TH400 w/ reverse pattern valve body and trans brake. Out back 12 bolt with Moser axles, TA girdle and right now 3.73 gears. Putting a 'glass flat hood with Stage 2 scoop on over winter. Don't know if I should add chin spoiler and decklid spoiler, what do you think?

Wow, that's a lot of work Coach.

We are going to work on the 68 convertible project. Getting cowl rust fixed, and trying to get it primered and ready for paint. And find all the parts.

The old iron 430 heads are off and the TA/Gessler level 3's are going on. I'm port matching the headers at the moment.

She is getting a 4bbl carb and intake, cam, disc brakes in the front, gauges, and (stock) new suspension

parrish, if you are doing the suspension work yourself be sure to take pictures for those of us who would like to attempt doing that same update!

Will do! I have a donor car with new springs, shocks and new aftermarket disc brakes (probably just a nova kit) on the front so I will basically be just swapping parts. I might look into some urethane bushings while I'm doing it.

Since I recently scored a rebuilt perf. Qjet on eBay, I'm going to convert from the stock 2bbl. I'm still not sure though, if I don't want to swap in a 455 and use the Qjet on that engine instead of putting a 4bbl. intake on the 350 and then later swapping in a BBB.
I'd also like to find a nice set of rims (I really like the look of the Weld Pro Stars, and the new black Torq-Thrust "M" series is nice, but pricey). Funds available will be the deciding factor, I think (they've recently been cutting hours at my job--anyone else out there getting 'pinched' too?).
Any suggestions on what to do, engine-wise?

Coach, I love the looks of your car without rhe rear spoiler, however a chin spoiler is cool. Just an opinion, Low buck Jim.

Well, I'm starting with the simple stuff:

    1. Convert to 4bbl
    2. Ta perf cam
    3. Dual exhaust but running through manifolds right now
    4. Small stall for the cam
    5. Rear end swap for better gears and a posi.

I dont know how deep you want to go but you can change the pistons out to bump compression but that might not be worth it. Port, polsh, or milled heads, bigger valves, port match intake manifold, headers, Turbo kit........ I guess it really depends on what your "target horsepower" or goal for the car is.

Go clear down to the last group of threads, and open the "buick vehicles for sale" forum. It is the first vehicle on the list, a 1978 Skylark drag car. I'm not sure how to post the link. Later, Randy
