Putting 4 wheel discs on my 70 Skylark. Now I am at the point of replacing the master cylinder. Should I go the 1'' bore or will 3/4" bore be sufficient to stop safely? It will also be power brakes as I want it to be safe for my wife or daughter to drive(just don't tell Sarah...lol).

I will look and see if I can find out what I have on mine, I put dynalites all the way around and all have quad 1.75" pistons........mine is manual and the pedal isn't hard to push......it does travel a touch farther than I would prefer but when it moves enough fluid the car stops on a dime.........I think if I extend the pushrod a touch and raise my pedal I will like the pedal feel better.

I used my factory clevis on the pushrod and its as far out as felt was safe as far as thread engagement. I need to get a threaded sleeve and the rod out of it to gain me a little more initial pedal height. I think air will trick my brain to thinking the pedal isn't too low if it starts slightly higher .......but I stop from 130mph in a fraction of what I used to be able too
