    Hi Guys

Looking to upgrade my disc brakes to Wilwood. Have 4 wheel disc now but 11" rotor. Anyone have the Wilwoods on their car and what size and combo do you have. Looking at the 12.88" 6 piston for the front and smaller for the back. Have the 455 with about 500 hp.

    Any thoughts

    Thanks
    Leo

Not sure your wheel size.....im running 12.19 ultra lights on the rear with the dynalite calipers and it barely clears the inside of my 15" rim....there would be no way to get a bigger setup in my wheel.

I have their small thin drag rotors upfront and .8" wide rears with 4 piston 1.75 calipers on all 4 corners and she lays right down from almost 130 no issues or worries.........they will even footbrake hold well over 3000 rpms

I have had Wilwood calipers and pads on the front wheels of the Buchev for 10 years. I love them, but I had to space the stock 15" wheels out about 3/8" to get clearance.

I have 17" rims. Should be no issue. We use them a lot at my friends resto shop.

My issue was backspacing, not diameter.

I installed a pair of Corvette C5 spindles and hubs and then went with Wilwood's 4 piston kit for the C5/C6 Corvette. I like the sealed hubs and separate rotors and the fact that the calipers bolt right on with no adapters

I would love to hear how you did that conversion.

It's pretty straightforward. The spindles are from Classic Performance part number CP30013. They're made for the 64-72 A-bodies and bolt right in just like a stock spindle. The cost is about $270/pair. The hubs are Timken part number 513139 and cost about $150/each. Attach the hubs after the spindles are installed because it's easier to torque the hub retaining bolts. The brake kit is designed for the C5/C6 Corvette and is Wilwood part number 140-15175-DR and cost about $800. You can also choose a 6 piston option. The conversion was not cheap but I like the taller spindle, sealed hubs/bearings and the cool factor of those calipers showing through the wheels.
