My 72 Lark Grille is somewhat busted, i picked up a 70 GS grille thinking that since most of the 70-72 stuff will interchange in general i could make it work. has anyone done enough grilles to know? mainly im worried about mounting it.

You will need 70 headlight doors and a 70 hood lip molding. I do not think that you would need a 70 bumper. You may need the trim piece that attaches to the 70 grille.

71 would fit better, but your best bet is to sell the 70 grille and buy a 72,you should make some money on the deal,as the 70's grilles are supposed to be worth more, just because there's more demand for them.Bruno.

    You'll need a 70 front bumper too.

You'll also need the correct grille studs.

You definitely need a hood lip molding. A 72 molding will break a 71 grille.

    Also,
And this is VERY important. You need the studs off a 71 GS grill only. If you try to use studs off a 71 skylark grill then they will go so far in and then crack the grill.

The 71 GS grill studs are a smaller diameter then the 71 Skylark grill studs.

Could use JB weld. Then when gets hard will screw out nicely. Or not.

Just purchased 1970 skylark custom convertible and I believe has 71 front bumper / grille. I would like to go back to original any advice ?

Looks to have a 72 hood, headlight doors with a 71 skylark grille and bumper.
