Will 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing fit the front of a 67 GS with disc brakes?

Have a friend looking to put discs on his 67, will the above rally rims fit?

    Hi Chris...
If I was placing a bet in Las Vegas...
I would say "No" but.. they might fit but it seems like they would be nasty in a turn.

I would guess he will got front discs similar to what you would have on a 68-72.

Let’s forget the front discs for a second, will the above mentioned rims fit on the front of a 67 with drums? Anybody running them? If so, what tire size?

If you look at the Rallye Wheel chart,

    WHEELCHART.jpg
The 65-67 14 X 6" wheel has 4 1/2" back spacing. That means a 2" wider wheel would need an additional 1" of back spacing to keep the wheel in the same position in the wheel well. My answer is NO.:)

I have 235/60-15's on the front of my 66's with disk brakes. The 15x7 Buick mags have 4-3/8" (4.375")backspace. An 8" wheel with 4.5" bs would be like a 7" wheel with 4" bs...... so the tire would be 3/8" further out with your friends combo..... should work.
When I ran taller 225/70-15's they would sometimes hit the fender lip.
