    WOW!
This will be another nice Cat in your nice collection! The long console is what missed the 65 manual cars.

    Ted,
It looks like those frame rails are boxed.....
Is this frame for a convertible or did all wildcats
come with boxed frame rails? :Do No:
I would like to box the rails on my lesabre....but
that would be alot of work.
    Oh yeah, looks great!

Wildcats and Electras had boxed frames. They also have 3" longer wheelbases.

Wow, LeSabres don't have boxed frames? How is the LeSabre coming? Do you want a boxed frame for it? I have extras, they are 3" longer though! Ted

    Lesabre

    Ted,
My lesabre is moving along slowly....
    The shorty headers look great.
I had planned on using the shorty 455 headers on my project but....
when I test fitted them .... they interfered with the steering box. :ball:
It looks like you have plenty of room when you go to install your
    steering box.
Maybe I will box my frame.... :Brow:
    Again looks great!
    Tom :TU:

Hey Ted I have a question about the clutch and pressure plate .Our flywheel is recessed where the clutch disc goes and this is different than my gran sport skylark flywheel. are these still available and do you have a part number for the pressure plate .thanks

Good question, I'll have to research that. I'm using a GS flywheel for this application. I did not want to take my original 4-speed car apart. I wonder if that is the reason for my 4-speed convertible's clutch poor performance....Ted

Yeh, always makes me think of myself jamming the gears so hard it bends the shifter forward!!! :3gears: :Brow: :3gears:

Giving me a need for speed just thinking about it!

    4-Speed for me

Ted, great pick on transmissions!!! Not the cheapest route but the best! I'm glad I'm not real far from you and would love to see your Wildcat when its done. Your year Wildcat is my favorite and being a manual transmission leaves me at a loss for words!!! :TU: Nice work Ted!!!!!! :TU: AL.

    Thanks Al
I'm working on a '67 CA GS (it was in the way?) for the winter, but will resume working on this 5-speed Wildcat after the 340 car. I got kindof frustrated at the clutch linkage. Not insurmountable! Just everything on the Wildcat has to be figured out, and the 340 is "easy".

Plus I'm getting parts together for a higher HP engine for the Wildcat. Extrude hone is shipping the heads and intake they ported for me tomorrow...set up for a holley 4-bbl...going for the big torque thang

Oh, and the gear ratios on the Tremec work out great. The Wildcat 4-speeds have a 2.20 first gear which is a clutch burner even with a 3.42 rear. It wouldn't be so bad if I had a 3.91 like Wild Bill!

    4-Speed for me

Ted, I was reading that a 6 speed model of your transmission is now out :Brow: . Best wishes on your Cat and I'll stay tune on your super progress! I kind of feel your pain on restoration projects, as you probably know I'm finishing one frame off restoration myself and hope to complete it for this spring, AL.

Time to get back on this project!
Wild Bill Burton and I had an alchohol induced vision of the Black 5-speed and Bill's White '66 Wildcat GS 455 auto + Gear vendors OD driving cross country to the Seattle BCA nats in 2007. Time To Git 'er Done!

Time for me to hop in here, how are you working the Hydrallic clutch? Scavenging an F-body pedal assembly? I keep having dream of putting a T56 behind a nailhead using the EELCO bellhousing with a hydrallic clutch. You really need to through a Buick picnic party at your place Ted, I'd come with my '64 Riv to park next to your '65 Riv.

    Later,

I bought the trannie and clutch components from Kiesler Eng. -the ones that do all the mopar stuff... They matched up a hyd throwout bearing and cylinder. I've got pedals hung from a 65 Impala, fit right in with a couple machined blocks I had made. I just have to figure the pedal to cyl activation, where to mount cyl, all that fab stuff.

You can see the cyl in above photo-right infront of the torque converter :TU:
Here are the blocks from above. They simulate the stamped metal bits the small cars have - hold the shaft that the pedals swivel from. The shaft that shows toward the back is where the stock pedal would swing from. The Stock Wildcat 4-speed set up has the brake pedal in that location and the clutch pivots from a shaft 2" forward of the brake's.
